Tale of prayer inspires UCW
The Afternoon Unit of the
Belgrave U.C.W. met in the church
schoolroom on May 10, with 11
present. In the absence of the leader
Audrey Fenton, Kay Roberts
conducted the meeting.
The meditation was "A Wealth of
Friendship." It related an incident
when two boys, trapped on a
railroad over a ravine, were forced
to cling to the trestle underneath as
a train passed. Their lives were
spared. Their mother, unaware of
their danger had been praying for
their safety at that same precise
moment.
Ada Taylor led the Bible Study
on "The Passport of Faith; about
the centurion and his slave. There
was something special about this
centurion. He was determined to
save the slave's life. The centurion
was a man of great faith. Mrs.
Taylor stated: "Jesus Christ is the
possession of every man in every
race, in whose heart there is faith."
The Mission Study, as given by
Mary Hunter, referred to the cult
disaster at Waco, also to the
experiences of a quiet, farm girl,
Lisa. She was a lovely girl who
never fooled with drugs; but she
was drawn into a religious cult.
After months of anguish and fear
her parents had her "kidnapped" by
a professional who rescued and
deprogrammed her. Now she
believes strongly in religious
freedom.

Me Watch". Special music was
