Jo-Ane sets up a series of
lectures that are of interest to
everyone. She set out a variety of
information sheets for the ladies to
look at. They were very apprecia-
tive of Jo-Ane's informative talk
about the Drop in Center.
The business meeting was turned
over to Marie McGavin the U.C.W.
president. Reports were given and
thank you cards were read. It was
noted that the annual Country
Supper will be held on Father's
Day, June 20.

Tree planters
Driver Earl Fyfe checks on the progress of tree planters
Rick Moore and Raymond Riley while Marty Tuikema
follows along during a tree planting at a private
landowner's field. The tree planting is a service of the
Maitland Valley Conservation Authority who annually plant
an estimated 100,000 trees for private landowners. The
trees are grant assisted if the farmer plants at least one
acre.

A teacher had just given her
second-grade class a lesson on
magnets. Now came the question
session, and she asked a little boy.
"My name starts with M and I pick
up things. What am I?" The boy
quickly replied, "A Mother."
