HIGHWAY CLOSING
Notice is hereby given that
pursuant to the Municipal
Act, R.S.O. 1990, as
amended, the Council of the
Corporation of the Township
of Grey proposes to enact a
by-law to stop up, close and
sell part of sideroad 30-31,
concession 9, north of
Huron County Road 16 and
south of the Canadian
National Railway, Township
of Grey, County of Huron.
The proposed by-law and
description of the lands
affected may be viewed in
the Municipal Office of the
Corporation of the Township
of Grey at the address
hereinafter noted. The
Council of the Corporation
of the Township of Grey will
hear, in person or by
counsel or agent, any
person who claims his land
will be prejudicially affected
by the said by-law and who
applies to be heard at a
meeting to be held at the
said Township Municipal
Office on the 7th day of
June, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. or as
soon thereafter as the said
meeting may be held.

The annual Londesboro Ladies
Bowling banquet was held at the
Blue Fountain Restaurant, Clinton
on Wednesday evening.
The Number One team was the
Blue Jays comprised of: Rita
Verburg, Reah Reinink, Colleen
Carter, June Fothergill and
Josephine MacGregor.
The Number Two team was the
Cardinals. Team members were:
Audrey Boonstoppel, Agnes
Doherty, Helen Dale, Marjorie
Wilkins and Kathi Eigenheer.
Other awards were: high average,
Audrey Boonstoppel; runner-up
high average, Wilma Rammeloo;
high triple, Rita Verburg; runners
up, high triple, Carol Munnings;
high single, Gay Datema; runner up
high single, Helen Dale; most
improved, Elizabeth Lawson;
runner up most improved, Colleen
Carter; most head pins, Helen Dale;
runner up, Connie Hoggart; low
average, Sharon LaCroix and
lowest score, Marjorie Wilken.

After a delicious dinner everyone
went to the bowling alley to play
two games of Bingo Bowling. The
winning team was Corrie Bos,
Connie Hoggart, Gay Datema,
Helen Dale and June Fothergill.
Greeters at Londesboro United
Church on Sunday, May 9 were
Ken and Marlene Armstrong.
Ushers were Bert Lyon, Bob Trick,
Garnet Wright and John Hoggart.
Flowers on the memorial stand
were placed by Kay Saundercock
and family in memory of Laura

A baptism service was conducted
for Emily Rebecca Allen, daughter
of Don and Catherine Allen and
Tyler Anthony Mitchell, son of
Mark and Laurel Mitchell of
Clinton. Rev. Ross's sermon topic
was "Company's Coming."
Marsha Szusz and the junior
choir sang an anthem. Ellaine and
Jillian Weber sang a baptism
lullaby.
Senior choir is reminded of
practice at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday,
May 16 and 23.
May is foot health
month, says assoc.
The Ontario Podiatry Association
launched Foot Health Month May
10 with the inauguration of two
spokesfeel. Freddy and Frieda Foot
will be used by the Association to
highlight foot problems, concerns
and solutions to the general public.
May is Foot Health Month in
Ontario and "we were looking for
an upbeat approach to create public
awareness," said Neil Koven,
President of The Ontario Podiatry
Association.

On the third meeting of Ethel
Fatigued Fingers members learned
about colour. Well, what's to learn
about colour? A lot! They 'carner
about different colour schemes and
contrasting and complementary
colours, then worked on cross stitch
projects.
At the fourth meeting 4Hers
learned how to make beautiful wall
hangings, called lace net darning.
Mrs. Rush and Mrs. Martin
demonstrated how to do this easy
stitch work, then members
'continued with their stitchery. The
meeting closed with the 4H motto.
On the fifth meeting they
discussed what was needed to
complete projects and books, which
are due on May 15.
Also, on this day they went to the
Listowel Craft Show at the arena.
They discussed where, when and
what they were going to do for the
achievement program to be held on
Wednesday, May 26 in the United
Church of Ethel at 7:30 p.m.

tables of euchre Monday evening at
the Ethel Hall. The high lady was
June Jacklin, high man, Harold
Metcalfe, low lady, Shirley Ver-
stoep; low man, Scott McLean;
most lone hands, Margaret Long,
Hilda HOlmes and Bill Dobson.
The 50/50 draw was won by
Adrian Verstoep.
