Dedicated service
Captain John Grobbo of Fordwich, a leader with the
Brussels Army Cadet Core #2976, was presented with a
Canadian Forces Decoration for 12 years of dedicated and
good service to the Canadian Forces at a special awards
ceremony at the Brussels Legion April 6. Presenting Capt.
Grobbo with the pin was Captain W.R. Thompson, area
cadet officer with the London cadet attachment.
Service award
Captain W.R. Thompson presented Linda Bird with a
Certificate of Service for seven years of service with the
Brussels Army Cadet Core #2976 last week at the Royal
Canadian Legion in Brussels.

The Whytocks go western
Wayne and Helen Whytock of Bluevale got into the spirit of
things at the Country and Western dance held at the
Bluevale Community Centre Saturday night. The dance
was put on by the Bluevale Community Recreation
Association. to raise money for minor ball.
Mental health association
hosts jamboree in May
The Canadian Mental Health
Association of Huron County is
looking for craft people and
children's entertainers to participate
in their Family Jamboree being
held at the Goderich arena on May
8 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.
Craft people are needed to sell their
unique, handmade products.
Woodwork, quilted wares, country
crafts, home-baked goods and all
types of crafts are needed. Tables
and chairs will be available for set
up.
Children's entertainers of all
types are also needed. We welcome
amateur and professional puppe-
teers, musicians, theatre groups and
storytellers to participate in the fun
we have planned. Some children's
activities have been planned but
organizers would like to include
more children's entertainers in the
event.
This exciting fundraising event
will feature folk, country and
contemporary live band perform-
ances, craft tables, children's
activities, food and prize-winning
draws. This family celebration is
part of Mental Health Week which
runs from May 3 to May 8.
