Hall bd. discusses sprinklers On Easter Sunday the congre- gation of Blyth Christian Reformed Church celebrated the resurrection of the Lord. Rev. Heersink began the service by welcoming everyone. During the service, the choir sang a selection of Easter songs. The congregation witnessed the beautiful sacrament of Holy baptism as it was administered to . Ryan Trent, infant son of Diana and Mark Sjaarda. The scripture passage was taken from the gospel of Matthew, chapter 28: 1-10, with the text from Matthew 28: 6, 9. The sermon was entitled "Rejoice, for the Lord is Risen." Today, in our western culture we don't express so exuberantly that Christ has risen, but that doesn't mean we don't have joy, said Rev. Blyth People At the first meeting of the North Huron Vet Club on Thursday, April 8, 24 members attended. Officers elected were: president, Marilyn Vanelzer; vice president, Anne Uhler; secretary, Simone Bleeker; treasurer, Jennifer Jackson and press reporter, Mandy Machan. The group learned about the respiratory system and what can be harmful to it. They heard how to control their system. They learned about hyperventilation and why breathing into a paper bag helps. The meeting was held at the Blyth Vet Clinic. Gordon, Catherine, Gary, Cathy and Greg Caldwell and Valerie Hamilton visited with Linda and Philip Powers of Oil Springs on Easter Sunday. Early, on that first Easter morning, Jesus' followers sadly went to his grave to say their final goodbyes to their master, whom they loved. When they saw the empty grave, they were horrified and afraid. But the angel spoke to them and told them that Jesus lives! The bible says they believed. Suddenly their sorrow gave way to joy. They were filled with happiness and hope. They believed before they saw Jesus. Today we hear the same message. We don't fmd Jesus in the cemetery or where death reigns, but where there is life because every day He lives, said Rev. Heersink. Christ didn't spill his blood in vain. God accepted his sacrifice for all the sins of mankind. He said, everyone who believes the message of the cross and the There were 10 tables in play at euchre on April 5. When we nourish our faith it will grow, our joy will grow. We must share our joy as Jesus' followers did on that first Easter morning. When we believe, we share in his victory. PITCH-IN CANADA! Most of the repairs to the sprin- kler pipes in Blyth Memorial Hall, will be covered by the village's insurance company. This was discussed at the regular meeting of Blyth Memorial Hall board on March 29. The damage was a result of frozen pipes. Festival General Manager Ray Salverda strongly recommended that the pipes be dropped below the ceiling into the heated space to avoid the chance of this happening again. He also asked whether or not quotes for repairs could be obtained. Chairperson Shirley Fyfe is going to be discussing the matter with the insurance adjuster. Any bills have been sent to the insur- ance company. OP EPEPLP c_f D, LET'S GET TOGETHER ID C. Business Information Dinner Meeting Wed. April 14 at 7:00 Wed.
