Cows sell steady,
light run of pigs
The Ontario Egg Producers'
Marketing Board's Pullet
Committeemen have elected Hank
Reinink as one of their two
representatives to the board of
directors. He has been a
committeeman for the past three
years.
Mr. Reinink will represent the
pullet producers in the Western half
of the province.
For the past two years, he has
been chairman of the Ontario Pullet
Growers Association and has been
on their executive since 1989.
Together with his wife, Shirley,
he runs a broiler operation, in
addition to pullet production. They
raise cash crops as well, on their
150-acre farm at Londesboro. Mr.
Reinink also operates a small
engine sales and service business.
He is treasurer of the Londesboro
Lions Club and is also involved in
other local service clubs and fund
raising committees.
The purpose of The Ontario Egg
Producers' Marketing Board is: to
effectively manage the production
and pricing of eggs in Ontario to
ensure fair and stable returns for
producers and adequate supply of
On April 17 and 18, the Ministry
of Natural Resources (MNR) from
Wingham will be offering a visitor
services program at the Port Albert
Fishway in Port Albert, to see
magnificent rainbow trout
swimming upstream to critical
spawning areas within the Nine
Mile River watershed.
Staff will be providing
information on fishway operations,
fish identification, habitat
components necessary for the
production of trout, as well as
MNR programs such as CFIP
(Community Fisheries Involvement
Program) and CWIP (Community
Wildlife Involvement Program).
This service will be offered from
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the above dates
(weather permitting).
Port Albert is located nine miles
north of Goderich along Highway
No. 21. The fishway is located
within the village of Port Albert
west of the highway. For further

Fringe Field Naturalists, in co-
operation with the MNR, are
providing an outing for interested
people to view migrant waterfowl
at the Hullett Provincial Wildlife
Area. For the bicycle enthusiasts,
there will be a tour made available,
so feel free to bring a bicycle.
Interested people are to meet at
the main viewing stand at 1:30 p.m.
To arrive at this location, proceed
north on Highway No. 4 from
Clinton. Turn right on Concession
road 6-7 (third corner north of
Clinton) and travel three km. east
to the main viewing stand on the
right or south side. This is just past
the bird sanctuary on the same side
of the road.
Following the hike, refreshments
will be supplied at the main Hullett
office.

the week ending March 26 were:
fed cattle, 824; cows, 282; veal
calves, 173; sheep and goats, 159;
stockers, 1150; and pigs, light run.
Fed steers and heifers at Brussels
Livestock sold on a good strong
active trade. Cows sold steady.
There were 567 steers on offer
selling from $101 to $107 to the
