Futures in Huron County bituaries
EVELYN E. MITCHELL
Evelyn Mitchell of Willowdale
died at Cummer Lodge on
Thursday, March 25, 1993 in her
108th year.
She was the former Evelyn
Webster, daughter of the late John
and Sarah Ann (Humphrey)
Webster and was born in West
Wawanosh Township on Sept. 13,
1885. She was the wife of the late
Jas R. Mitchell.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by
sons, George of Georgetown and
William of Mount Forest, 10
grandchildren, 16 great-grand-
children and five great-great-
grandchildren, two sisters, Dorothy
McKenzie of West Wawanosh and
Dorine Monney of Agincourt. She
was predeceased by a daughter,
Freda and son James, sisters,
Myrtle MacCrostie, Pearl Smith
and Zylda McKay and brothers
George, William and Elwell
Webster.
The funeral was held on March
29 at the Jones and Son Funeral
Home in Georgetown. Spring
burial will be in Eden Mills
Cemetery.
DIANNE LAWLESS
Dianne Lawless of Burlington
daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Lawless
(Turnbull) and Mr. Doug Lawless
passed away on Thursday, March
18 in her 48th year.
Dianne, the granddaughter of
Mrs. Jennie Turnbull of Seaforth
and the late Mr. William Turnbull
and the late Mrs. Annie and Mr.
Percy Lawless of London was
predeceased by her brother Murray
in 1972.
Funeral services were held at the
Wellington Square United Church
on Monday, March 22 with the
Rev. Robert Shorten officiating.
Interment was at Greenwood
Cemetery, Burlington.
MARGARET WHEELENS
DUNBAR
Margaret Wheelens Dunbar of
the Seaforth Manor nursing home
died March 22, 1993 at Seaforth
Community Hospital of a short ill-
ness. She was 90.
Mrs. Dunbar was born in Morris
Township on June 10, 1902. She
went to school at U.S.S. #17 in
Belgrave before marrying Joseph
Dunbar in 1925. He died in 1970.
She is also predeceased by two
brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Dunbar is survived by her
children, Keith and Marie Dunbar
of Stratford, Alan and Pat Dunbar
of Belgrave and Lorna (Mrs. Nor-
man Cook) also of Belgrave. She is
also survived by 18 grandchildren
and 39 great grand children.
Mrs. Dunbar was a member of
Knox Presbyterian Church in Bel-
grave.
Her funeral was held March 24 at
the McBurney Funeral Home in
Wingham. Honourary pallbearers
were Garry Hall, Jim Ryan, David
Dunbar, Donald Dunbar, Ronald
Cook and Cameron Cook.
Spring interment will be at Bran-
don Cemetery in Belgrave.
LAWRENCE CARLYLE
TAYLOR
Lawrence Carlyle Taylor of Bel-
grave died March 27, 1993 at
Wingham District Hospital.
The East Wawanosh native was
83.
Mr. Taylor was a farmer who'd
been educated at S.S. 9 in East
Wawanosh. He was a member of
Knox United Church in Belgrave,
the Canadian Order of Foresters,
and the Belgrave Orange Lodge
L.Q.L. 642.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his
wife, Margaret Robinson, whom he
married on Oct. 14, 1939.
Also surviving him are his chil-
dren, Ruth and Bob Gordon of Bel-
grave, Jim and Doris Taylor of RR
5, Wingham, Joyce and John
Thompson of RR 2, Lucknow and
Doreen and Jack Mali of RR 3,
Holyrod and one sister, Irene (Mrs.
Charles Showers) of Wingham.
He was predeceased by one
daughter, Mary in 1968, four broth-
ers and one sister.
Mr. Taylor's funeral was held
March 30 at the McBurney Funeral
Home in Wingham. Pallbearers
were Michael Coyne, Leonard
Robinson, Ross Thompson and Bill
Robinson. Cameron Robinson,
Tom Taylor and Dennis Taylor
were honourary pallbearers.

Murray Cardiff, Parliamentary
Secretary to the Minister of
Agriculture, and Member of
Parliament for Huron-Bruce,
announced March 29 on behalf of
the Honourable Bernard Valcourt,
Minister of Employment and
Immigration the formation of a
Community Futures Committee for
Huron County.
The Committee comprises
representatives from business,
labour, local government and the
community. Its task is to look at
opportunities for developing and
diversifying the local economy that
will use funding under the
Community Futures program.
"I am impressed with the
members selected to form this
committee," said Mr. Cardiff. "The
wide range of interests and
experience will allow them to
approach their mandate from a
broad perspective."
The Committee members are:
Mary Turford, Rhea Hamilton-
Seeger and Don Pullen representing
the small business sector; Gary
Eagleson and Alison Lobb
representing the agriculture sector;
Joe Rider and Bill Duckworth
representing the industrial sector;
Brian Vincent representing the
commercial sector; Joe Vienneau
representing labour; Jack Goodall
representing the legal sector; and
Gary Davidson representing
economic development.

Strategy, helps communities hard
hit by layoffs or chronic
unemployment to identify, develop
and implement measures to expand
employment and help individuals
adjust to their economic
