There will be a crokinole party
on Friday evening, March 26 in the
Belgrave United Church school
room.
On Saturday evening, March 20
Wilfred Haines saw a possum on
the first line of Morris near the golf
course.
Miss Carrie Anne Vincent of
Milton returned home on Sunday
with her parents Mr. and Mrs.
Wayne Vincent after spending a
week's holidays with her
grandmother, Mrs. Hilda Vincent.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Logan and
Trevor of Wyoming spent the
weekend with their parents Mrs.
The March meeting of the
Belgrave W.I. began with a pot
luck lunch at the hall attended by
80 members and friends. Following
the meal Dorothy Coultes read an
article "Wake Up Canada — there's
no free lunch."
She announced that she and Mary
Hunter will be holding classes to
make an expandable purse on April
15, 22 and 29 in the afternoon and
evening. Anyone wishing to attend
should contact them.
The Agriculture Convenor, Isabel
Craig, read a poem "The Farmer",
then introduced Ross Procter, who
told of his trip to Australia and
New Zealand to attend the World
Shorthorn Conference. He showed
slides of New Zealand and also
read two poems by Robert Service,
"Bessie's Boil" and "If you had a
friend".
The business meeting was in
charge of president Audrey Fenton
Dorothy Logan and Mr. and Mrs.
George McGee.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Witteveen of
Mount Vernon visited with his
sister and brother-in-law Mr. and
Mrs. James Hunter.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson and
Mr. and Mrs. George Michie
attended the funeral of their cousin
Albert Cole at Dundas on
Wednesday, March 17.
On Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Ross
Anderson visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Rick Ball, Matthew and Alicia of
Hanover. Visitors at the same home
were Mr. and Mrs. Rob Roy,
Christina and Emily of
Peterborough.

The minutes of the previous
meeting were read 'and approved
and the financial report was given
by Gladys Van Camp. An
invitation was read to visit
Huronlea on March 28 and
Huronview on April 4. An
invitation to attend a pot luck
supper when they honour
volunteers at Braemar Retirement
Centre, Wingham, was read.
The executive meeting for Huron
West will be held at the Belgrave
Hall, April 5.
A donation will be given to the
Belgrave, Blyth and Brussels
School Fair. Convenors were
named to look after catering to a
lunch on April 17.
The meeting closed by singing
"God Save The Queen".

at euchre
Ten tables were in play at the
weekly euchre, held in the W.I.
Hall Belgrave, Wednesday, March
17.
Winners were: high lady, Mrs.
Irma Coughlin; low lady, Mrs. Jack
Taylor; novelty lady, Mrs. Lloyd
Appleby; second low lady, Mrs.
Herb Clayton; high man, George
Inglis; low man, Stanley Black;
novelty man, Jim Coultes and
second low man, Garner Nicholson.
There will be euchre again
Wednesday, March 24.
A euchre tournament was held at
the Belgrave Complex on Friday
evening, March 19, with 23 tables
in play.
Winners were: first, Ross and
Irma Brighton; second, Betty
Archambault and Eileen Sellers;
third, Roy and Marion Taylor, low,
Joan Arbuckle, Margaret Stapleton
and 50/50 draw, Doris Laidlaw.
