Scoring for Belgrave was the ter- rific trio of Justin Campbell, six, Craig Marks, five, and Curtis Knight, four. Campbell also notched six assists, while Marks earned five and Knight, three. On Friday evening Belgrave trav- elled to Brussels where they downed the home squad 9-5. Scoring honours went again to Campbell, Marks and Knight. The trio also were credited for all assists. Great goaltending by Travis Campbell helped to hold a strong Brussels team down. The next game in this best of five series was played Monday in Bel- grave. The Belgrave team took part on the weekend in the Blyth Novice tournament. The first game saw Belgrave overpowered by Clifford who glid- ed to a 14 -3 sweep. Marks took the hat trick, while Paul Walker earned the assist. In the second game, Belgrave took on Brussels once again, slid- ing to a 16-3 win. Scoring honours once again went to Marks, Knight and Campbell, The three also earned several assists as did Devin Moffatt, Travis Hopper and Walk- er. Travis Campbell did his best in net in the third game against Blyth, but couldn't hold back the strong offensive allowing six to the home team's two. Justin Campbell scored both Bel- grave goals with Marks and Knight getting dividing the assists. A regular season game in Brus- sels saw the Sprouts skate to a tie against a visiting Wingham Tyke team on March 21. Starting things off was Wingham in the first, but just 48 seconds later the brother duo of Tyler and Nic Campbell put the home team on the board. Brussels took the lead before the period ended when Joel Hemingway nudged it in off a Geoffrey Banks set up. Wingham tied it again with the first goal scored in the second but Brooklyn Wheeler moved it in front of the net to a waiting Hem- ingway who snuck it home. With two minutes left, however, a visit- ing Tyke scored ending the game in a tie. ATTENTION LOT OWNERS ports '"",-/-4/,%//// Brussels Pee Wee Reps miss consolation championship The Champlain The Brussels Pee Wee Reps have been very busy lately. In group playoffs they defeated Hensel two games straight to advance to the semi-final round against Stephen Township. Brussels played Stephen Wednesday, March 17 in a very physical game, and defeated them 4-3 in first game of a best of three series. Game two is scheduled for March 22 at 8 p.m. in Huron Park. The Brussels Pee Wees, sponsored, by the Brussels Legion, participated in the Young Canada Tournament in Goderich during March Break. Saturday, March 13 Brussels faced a strong Ilderton team who defeated them 5-1. Ilderton went on to win the A Championship. In their second game of the day Brussels played Seaforth II and came out victorious winning the game 14-1. Tuesday, March 16 Brussels played Blyth in the consolation semi-final. An unassisted goal by Brett Fischer early in the first started the Brussels scoring. Two more goals by Chad McCallum with assists going to Andrew Exel, Corey Newman and Fischer rounded out the scoring in the first. In the second each team scored one. Brussels goal was by Adam Carr assisted by Fischer. Going into the third with a 4-1 lead Brussels racked up two more. Exel and Newman each got one with assists going to McCallum and Josh Beuerman. Blyth answered with one of their own to end the scoring. With the 6-2 win Brussels advanced to the consolation fmal. Saturday, March 20, Brussels played a determined Chesley team in the Consolation Championship. After one period the score was 2-1 for Chesley. Exel, assisted by Beuerman, scored the lone goal for Brussels. Going into the third period Chesley was up 3-1, but Brussels was still in the game until penalties once again plagued the squad. Chesley scored two more to seal the victory and win the consolation. The team still has group playoffs to finish before they hang up the skates.
