A 15-6 swamping, March 14, of
a visiting Bayfield team advanced
the Belgrave Novices to the next
round of playoffs to be played
against Brussels.
Scoring for Belgrave was the ter-
rific trio of Justin Campbell, six,
Craig Marks, five, and Curtis
Knight, four. Campbell also
notched six assists, while Marks
earned five and Knight, three.
On Friday evening Belgrave trav-
elled to Brussels where they
downed the home squad 9-5.
Scoring honours went again to
Campbell, Marks and Knight. The
trio also were credited for all
assists.

Campbell helped to hold a strong
Brussels team down.
The next game in this best of five
series was played Monday in Bel-
grave.
The Belgrave team took part on
the weekend in the Blyth Novice
tournament.
The first game saw Belgrave
overpowered by Clifford who glid-
ed to a 14 -3 sweep. Marks took
the hat trick, while Paul Walker
earned the assist.
In the second game, Belgrave
took on Brussels once again, slid-
ing to a 16-3 win. Scoring honours
once again went to Marks, Knight
and Campbell, The three also
earned several assists as did Devin
Moffatt, Travis Hopper and Walk-
er.
Travis Campbell did his best in
net in the third game against Blyth,
but couldn't hold back the strong
offensive allowing six to the home
team's two.
Justin Campbell scored both Bel-
grave goals with Marks and Knight
getting dividing the assists.
A regular season game in Brus-
sels saw the Sprouts skate to a tie
against a visiting Wingham Tyke
team on March 21.
Starting things off was Wingham
in the first, but just 48 seconds later
the brother duo of Tyler and Nic
Campbell put the home team on the
board. Brussels took the lead
before the period ended when Joel
Hemingway nudged it in off a
Geoffrey Banks set up.
Wingham tied it again with the
first goal scored in the second but
Brooklyn Wheeler moved it in
front of the net to a waiting Hem-
ingway who snuck it home. With
two minutes left, however, a visit-
ing Tyke scored ending the game in
a tie.
