Board searches
for new heating
system for hall
The Blyth Memorial Hall Board
continued its quest to find an alter-
native way of heating the hall by
researching the possibility of
installing a water furnace.
Ray Salverda, representing Blyth
Centre for the Arts, spoke to Cliff
Mann from Cliffs Plumbing and
Heating about the idea.
He told Mr. Salverda a water fur-
nace would cost between $20,000
and $30,000 to install. He also
expressed concerns about this type
of system for Memorial Hall.
Board chair Shirley Fyfe said Mr.
Mann felt there wasn't enough
room in the area to place under-
ground water pipes needed to oper-
ate a water furnace.
She said the board will continue
to look into alternatives means of
heating the hall.
In other meeting news, the Board
decided to request the help of Dave
Cook and Pat Cronin to fabulon the
hall floor since they've fabuloned
the arena auditorium many times.
As well, it was suggested the
board purchase slat blinds for the
windows in the downstairs of
Memorial Hall.
