East Wawanosh students say speeches
The Public Speaking Contest for
East Wawanosh Public School was
held in the school auditorium on
Tuesday, Feb. 23. A number of
visitors were in attendance as well
as grades three to eight.
Mr. Scott thanked the parents for
their support and help at home.
Mrs. Campbell, Mr. Kerr, Mrs.
Evers, Mrs. Gross and Mr. Bartlett
were also thanked for their time
and effort.
Mr. Scott indicated the contest
was a great opportunity for students
to express themselves in public.
Not only does a speech require
research and organization but it
also provides the rest of the
students with entertaining
information about the hobbies and
interests of the speakers.
The judges were Mrs. Marg
Walsh, a former teacher at
Wingham Public School, Ms
Jennifer Brewin, Associate Director
of the Blyth Theatre, and Mrs.
Helen Crocker, Curriculum
Implementation Co-ordinator of the
Learning Resources Centre at the
Huron County Board of Education.
Ms Brewin spoke on behalf of the
