On Friday, Feb. 19, the branch was transformed to a hot sunny beach for its beach party pub night. Despite the very cold temperatures outside, people relaxed inside with a game of beach volleyball, hummed a few tunes, passed along lifesavers and swivelled their hips with the hula hoops. Debbie Trollope and Sandy Huether were chosen as the most appropriately dressed for the beach fun. By the end of the evening you could almost feel the warm gentle breezes blowing in off the Gulf coast. However, reality struck and shorts and t-shirts had to be replaced with coats and snow suits. Public speaking will take place at the Brussels Legion Hall on Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. Everyone is invited to the branch to listen and support all the speakers. Provincial Service Officer Mel Harper will be visiting the Branch on March 3 at 5:30 p.m. If you have not contacted the Branch with your intent to attend please do so as soon as possible.
