The weekly euchre party was
held Tuesday evening, Feb. 9 at the
Auburn Community Hall with five
tables in play.
Prizes went to the following:
high man, Harold McClinchey; low
man, Tom Lawlor; high lady,
Grace Cartwright; low lady, Ruth
Jardin and novelty, Marjorie East.

The February meeting of the
Auburn Women's Institute was held
at the Community Hall, Thursday,
Feb. 11.
President Evelyn Flett welcomed
all.
The Institute Ode was sung and
the Mary Stewart Collect was
repeated and 0 Canada was sung
with Marjorie McDougall as
WMS read
Ephesians
The monthly meeting of the
Presbyterian W.M.S. was held at
the home of Marion Haggitt.
President Martha Daer opened the
meeting by reading the poem
"Room in Her Heart".
The devotional period was in
charge of Martha. The scripture
was taken from Ephesians, the third
chapter. This was read alternately.
The meditation was on "The Love
of Christ" followed by prayer. The
Study was taken by Frances Clark
about the topic "Love".
Lawlors get
visitors
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Weber of RR
5, Stratford visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lawlor.
Ian Andrews
collects at Knox
Rev. Paul Ross conducted the
service at Knox United Church and
Nancy Park was organist. The
Choral Invitation "Come In, Come,
In and Sit Down" was sung'
followed by the prayers of
approach and confession. Hymn
"Sing Ye Praises To The Father"
was sung.
Rev. Ross had conversation with
the children and the Lord's Prayer
was repeated by all. The children's
chorus was "Jesus Bids Us Shine".
Hymn "We Praise Thee 0 God,
Our Redeemer" was sung.
Rev. Ross's sermon was entitled
"Making Choices".
The offering was received by Ian
Andrews and Bryan Gross and for
the Sunday School brought forward
by Leanne Vincent and Angeleka
Sturzenegger and dedicated.
Closing hymn was "Trust and
Obey" and Rev. Ross pronounced
the benediction.
The February meeting of
Londesboro W.I. was held
Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m.
The meeting took the form of the
Card Cavalcade, the proceeds of
which go to Clinton Hospital.
There were 10 tables of euchre
and proceeds amounted to $91.
All prizes were donated by
Margaret Anderson. Winners were
Marie Krauter, Josie McGregor,
‘Elma Jewitt, Vietta Hoggart, Ella
'Flood and Stella Adams. Lucky
table winners were: Jean Scott,
Winnie Knox, Vietta Hoggart and
Josie McGregor. Lucky cup winner
was Kay Konarski.
This event was run by Hazel
Reid and June Fothergill.
The W.I. quilt which was sold by
silent auction, was won by June
Fothergill.
The proceeds will also go to the
Clinton Hospital.
`Making Choices'
sermon topic
Greeters at Londesboro United
Church on Sunday, Feb. 14 were
Mel and Barb Knox. Ushers were
Jack Lee, Bert Lyon, Don and
Kittie McGregor.
The sermon topic was "Making
Choices".
Huronview Fellowship Hour will
be Thursday, Feb. 18 at 1:15 p.m.
Confirmation Class will meet
Thursday, Feb. 18 from 7:30 - 9
p.m. at the home of Lillian Hallam.
Shuffleboard
Shuffleboard was held on
Wednesday, Feb. 10. Winners
were: high man, Harry Lear and
high lady, Helen Dale. Thirteen
attended.
• The sympathy of the community
is extended to Mrs. Jean Fox on the
passing of her niece the late Sherry
Souch of the Brussels area.

"Friendly Valentine".
The minutes were read by the
secretary Kay Lapp. Thank you
letters were read and other things
discussed. Tena Empey gave the
treasurer's report. The roll call was
answered by "Your Favourite
Memory of St. Valentine's Day."
The meeting was then turned
over to the program committee,
Marion Haggitt and Tena Empey.
Marion gave a reading and Tena
read some interesting embarrassing
moments from the Country Woman
magazine.
A new game, skip-bo, was played
by some and others played euchre.
The high for euchre was Betsy
