of forum at
Centralia
Environmental issues have an
impact on all farmers in Ontario.
Questions surrounding agriculture
and the affect on the environment
are many. What are the
environmental liability concerns?
What does society want farmers to
do with their farms? What is more
important - wetlands or farmlands?
What do the changes in the tree
bylaws mean to farmers? What is
the future of pesticide use? And
more importantly, farmers are
asking how can they deal with
these pressures.
Centralia College is hosting a one
day forum focusing on several of
these issues, Thursday, March 11,
10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The
participant fee is $25 and includes
lunch. Six guest speakers, each
with their own expertise in
environmental issues, will make
presentations in the morning, then
in the afternoon, an expert panel of
farm representatives from the OFA,
CFFO, and the media will question
the presenters. Everyone is
encouraged to join in the
discussions.
