put on a gymnastic display to

Women's centre
to open soon
A Woman's Resource Centre
may soon open in Wingham to pro-
vide information on women's
issues, including assault.
Jo-Anne Lentz, a community
developer/advocate says the search
is still on for a suitable location in
Wingham. Once it's found, pro-
posed hours will be from 9:00 to
3:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Ms. Lentz said the proposed cen-
tre will provide a "comfortable
environment for women and their
children to drop in and take a
break."
While there, needy women can
receive used clothing and house-
hold goods at no cost.
Though coordinators are still
looking for a site in Wingham, one
has been found in the town of
Seaforth at 28 Main St. South and a
grand opening is planned for Feb.
16.
The two centres are satellite pro-
jects of the Survival Through
Friendship House in Goderich
which provides shelter, support,
counselling and .advocacy for
assaulted women and their children
throughout Huron County.
They're also being supported by
Phoenix of Huron and receive gov-
ernment support.
