Parents are asked to bring the Baptismal Certificate, Birth Certificate and immunization Record Card of the child you Intend to register. The news from Seniors mourn friends ondesboro The Londesboro Seed Plant has undergone a change of hands this past week, with Bob Szusz taking BOB SZUSZ The annual meeting of Duff's United Church was held on Sunday, Jan. 24 following the service at 11:30 a.m. and a pot luck lunch. Greeters to the church service were Keith and Gloria Wilbee. Ushers were Ian Wilbee and Graeme Craig. Organist was Glenda Carter. Rev. Randy Banks was in charge of the service and presided for the installation of the U.C.W. members for 1993. Chris Eckel was the reader for the Old Testament Lesson taken from Isaiah 9: 1-4. Rev. Randy Banks will be conducting confirmation classes at both charged. Call him for dates The community welcomes all new families to our little village. Ron and Gayle Prout moved here from the Brussels area. They were married Sept. 5, 1992 and honeymooned at the Benmiller Inn. Ron works at Royal Homes in Wingham. Gayle works for the Town and Country Homemakers. They have a dog called Barney and a cat named Fred living with them. Gayle loves horses and owns one UCW prepares Valentine supper The U.C.W. of Duff's United Church is planning a Valentine pot luck supper for their February meeting this Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Heather Eckel will be speaking on her trip to Toe Alpha. over ownership, this past Monday, from Robert Shaddick. For Mr. Szusz owning his own business is a new venture. For the past 14 years he has been employed with Howson and Howson. "I had decided I wanted to have my own business and this came up. Being part of my own community it seemed like the opportunity I was looking for," said Mr. Szusz. The seed plant which has been operated on a seasonal basis for the past several decades will be under- going some changes with the new ownership. Mr. Szusz is turning the business into a year-round one with the addition of retail sales in pet food, bird seed and lawn and gar- den seed to the existing seed clean- ing operation. The plant, located directly across from the co-op in Londesboro should be ready by next Monday, said Mr. Szusz. each month and times if you are interested in joining either church. Choir practice is 7:30 p.m. Monday. At the annual meeting following the opening worship a video feature, "Celebrating Possibility" was presented. Rev. Banks was nominated as chairperson and Marilyn McDonald the secretary for the business and reading minutes of last year's annual meeting. Rev. Randy Banks and family were welcomed to the Walton-Bluevale charge last June from Manitoba. A minute's silence was observed in memory of Joe Flunking, Tom Allen and Lorne Snell, who have passed away since the last roll call. The minutes of October and November meetings were approved as read. Reta Kelland gave the financial report. Roll call was taken. An invitation to Blyth dessert euchre, March 4 was read. The March meeting is on the last Wednesday of the month. Bill Dobson and Brenda Boyer were the hosts. Winners were: high lady, Violet Smith; high man, Harold Coulter; low lady, Isabel Craig; low man, George Pearson; most lone hands, Verna Crawford, Lois McLean, Hazel McKenzie, Dorothy Dil- worth and Jack Cox; tally card draw, Scott McLean, Elmer Best, Ross Stephenson and Charlie Harri- son. Desiree Hall named pres. of sports club The Walton Area Sports Club held its annual meeting recently when the new executive was chosen. They are as follows: president, Desiree Hill; secretary, Heidi McClure; treasurer, Gloria Wilbee, Joanne McDonald and Laurie Brubacher. Another meeting was held later to plan for the Snowmobile Poker Rally on Sunday, Feb. 7.
