DOG OWNERS
IN THE VILLAGE OF
BRUSSELS
1993 Dog Tags Are Available
As of January 1, 1993, all
dogs must be licensed
according to By-Law 17-
1987 being a by-law to
license dogs and prohibit
the running at large of
dogs.
The fee schedule to be paid
shall be:
a) if the dog is a male or
a spayed female a fee of
$8.00.
b) if the dog is female, a
fee of $10.00.
c) for a second male or
spayed female a fee of
$10.00.
d) for a second female
a fee of $15.00.
Proof of rabies vaccination
must be shown at time of
tag purchase.
The owner shall within
10 days of becoming such
owner, and thereafter within
the first 60 days of each
calendar year cause it to be
registered, numbered,
described and licensed at
the office of the Clerk.
Failure to license your
dog will result in a $25.00
fine. •

ZONING BY-LAW BY

CORPORATION OF THE
VILLAGE OF BRUSSELS
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Village of Brussels passed
By-law 2-1993 on the 25th day of January 1993 under section 34
of the Planning Act, 1983.
AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or agency may appeal to the
Ontario Municipal Board in respect of the by-law by filing with the
Clerk of the Village of Brussels not later than the 16th day of
February, 1993 a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the
by-law and the reasons in support of the objection.
An explanation of the purpose and effect of the by-law,
describing the lands to which the by-law applies, and a key map
showing the location of the lands to which the by-law applies (or,
alternatively, an explanation as to why a key map is not provided)
are attached. The complete by-law is available for inspection in
my office during regular office hours.

CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF
BRUSSELS
BY-LAW 2-1993
By-law 2-1993 has the following purpose and effect:
1. By-law 2-1993 shall apply to Lot 123, Part Lots
124, 104, and 105, Registered Plan 192, Village
of Brussels and shall be rezoned from R1-1
(Residential Low Density - Status Zones) to R1-3
(Residential Low Density - Special Provisions).
The R1-3 zone shall permit the use of the
existing building as a drop in centre, as well as
a meeting place available to a number of service
clubs and organizations within the Village of
Brussels. Commercial type activities shall not
be permitted within the existing building.
Finally, parking shall be provided on-site for a
total of up to 6 vehicles.
The policies of the Village's Secondary Plan
allow for uses compatible with the residential
area to be permitted on lands designated
Residential. This application proposes a
rezoning In accordance with this policy of the
Village Secondary Plan.
2. This by-law affects shown on Schedule A,
Location Map attached hereto.

Legion's euchre team does
well in Seaforth frat event

In November of 1992, the
Brussels and Grey Central Public
Schools submitted poetry, essays
and art work pertaining to
Remembrance Day. Finalists were
sent to District to be judged along
with all other area winners.
Shannon Conley of Grey Central
had a second place finish at this
level. A special thanks is extended
to the school's students and staff for
making time in their busy
schedules for this project.
On Friday evening the grade
seven-eights met at Brussels
Mennonite Fellowship for an
activity night. On Saturday evening
the Youth met at the church for an
evening of fun and fellowship. Bill
and Rose Home have taken over as
leaders for the Youth.
The ladies gathered at the church
for their monthly meeting. A quilt
was tied as the ladies shared with
each other.
The focus on Sunday at the
On Saturday, Jan. 16 the Brussels
Branch 218 sent a team to Seaforth
to participate in fraternal euchre.
The team had a great day and
finished first. Team members were:
Lloyd Glanville, Ross Nicholson,
Neil Adams, and Ernie Back. The
next fraternal event will be doubles
darts on Feb. 13 in Goderich.
Results from Tuesday night
mixed darts are as follows: Adam
Smith, Gord Jacklin and Lawrence
Machan, first; Jean Little, Linda
Bird and Deb Cann, second; Jean
worship service was renewal.
Renewal happens when we bring
our unique personalities, biases,
and theology to God's table,
genuinely seeking to draw nearer to
God. God faithfully draws us near
to us, though we choose different
paths to renewal. Thelma Steinman
was the worship leader.
Yvonne Dettweiler gave a
children's story and Rob Demaray
read a story for old and young
alike. Pastor Tom Warner gave the
message.

A former resident of the village
Jantje van Vliet celebrated her 91st
birthday recently at the home of her
daughter and son-in-law Pieta and
Lawrie Cousins, London. Present
for the occasion were her daughters
Cory and Jenny and son Jan from
RR2, Brussels. A special surprise
was a phone call from Mrs. van
Vliet's daughter in Holland.
Prior to moving to Maple Villa
Apartments, where she resided for
over a decade, Mrs. van Vliet lived
first in Grey Township, then Wal-
ton.
There were eleven tables in play
at the Morning Star Rebekah Lodge
euchre party Jan. 18 in Brussels.
Winner were: high lady, Betty
McDonald; low lady, Phyllis
Mitchell; high man, Bill Craig; low
man, Margaret McCutcheon; most
lone hands, John Heddon and lucky
cup, Doug Hemingway.
