SHIRLEY EVELYN HARVEY
Funeral services were held on
Monday, Jan. 11 at 2:30 p.m. at the
R.S. Kane Funeral Home, Yonge
St., Toronto for Shirley Evelyn
Harvey, who passed away on Fri-
day, Jan. 8, 1993.
The former Shirley Casemore
was born in Wingham on Nov. 30,
1934. Mourning her death most
deeply is her husband Peter. She
also leaves her children Peter Jr.,
Laurie and Joan. She was the dear
daughter of Merle McFarlane of
Wingham and beloved sister of
Beverley (Mrs. Ron) Hayden ,
Wingham and Joan MacDonald,
Blyth. She will be missed as well
by her many nieces and nephews.
A recent policy change will now
see the monthly meeting of the
Clinton Public Hospital board open
to the public, employees and the
media.
Executive Director Allan Halls
said the first open meeting of the
board is scheduled for Jan. 25.
Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. on
the fourth Monday of each month
in the hospital board room. Every-
one is welcome to attend except in
cases when the Chair requests the
board move into an "in camera"
session.
These sessions are held when the
topic of discussion concerns per-
sonnel, litigation, collective bar-
gaining or salary negotiations,
patient confidentiality, discussion
pertaining to risk management and
quality assurance activities and
findings or discussion on the pur-
chase and/or sale of property when
premature disclosure of the trans-
action or price is not in the public
interest.
Mr. Halls said anyone wishing to
address the board should submit a
request in writing to the chair
through Mr. Halls at least seven
days prior to the next regularly
scheduled meeting.
A response will then be sent to
the individual.
HCBE
accepts
tenders
Continued from page 6
borrow from time to time from the
Bank of Montreal in an amount not
exceeding $25 million.
The borrowing is required to
meet expenses until revenue is
received.
Last year, trustees changed the
aggregate borrowing amount to $25
million from $20 million. Educa-
tion Director Bob Allan said $25
million has been adequate and
anticipates it will be adequate for
1993.

Car rolls
in Grey
Twp.
A Palmerston man escaped seri-
ous injury in an early morning acci-
dent on Sunday after his car went
out of control on an icy Grey
Township road.
Calvin Wenzel, 27, was north-
bound on County Road 12 at an
approximate speed of 90 kilometres
an hour, when he attempted to pass
a slower moving vehicle, a Wing-
ham OPP spokesperson said. Mr.
Wenzel's 1990 Chev entered the
east ditch and rolled after going out
of control on the icy road surface,
policy said.
Mr. Wenzel received minimal
injuries but was not hospitalized.
Damage to the car was severe.
