On Thursday, Jan. 14 the Blyth
U.C.W. met for their first meeting
as one combined unit.
Worship with Dorothy Daer,
Bernice McClinchey and Elva
Brown at the piano, opened the
meeting. 011ie Craig, with the help
of a video, explained a new mission
project in Wake Tiyo, Ethiopia.
President, Susan Howson led the
business portion. She announced
some upcoming events. On
Sunday, April 11 at 6:30 a.m. there
will be an Easter Sunrise service.
Friday, May 7 at 7 p.m. is the
garage sale to be held this year at
the church. A Mother's Day Tea
will be hosted on Wednesday, June
2 at 8 p.m.
The meeting closed with a
delicious lunch served by Ferne
McDowell, Marj East and Bea
Chambers.

UCW meets
Twenty-five ladies attended the
Jan. 6 meeting of the Brussels
U.C.W. President, Audrey Cardiff,
welcomed the ladies. The minutes
were read and adopted. The
treasurer's report was given. Adah
Smith and Gertie Kellington
reported on the Christmas shut-in
boxes, gifts and cards.
Gertie Kellington was in charge
of the worship part of the meeting.
She introduced the speaker, Mr.
Stephen Betts who spoke on
funeral arrangements planning
ahead, estate planning, legal
counselling and new regulations.
Isabelle Wheeler closed the
meeting with the reading, "My
Prayer as The New Year Begins".
