WI tie quilt for auction
The January meeting of the W.I.
was held at the home of Helen
Lawson on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
Correspondence was received
from Doris Batkin, Erl and Lee, the
museum, Christmas Bureau,
County Quilt Fest '93 committee
and Marg Elerle F.W.I.O.
President.
Josephine McGregor and
Margaret Taylor will act as a
nominating committee. Leita Wiley
and Helen Lawson will look after
the Jan. 22 euchre.
The afternoon was spent tying a
quilt to be sold by silent auction.
Proceeds from its sale will go to the
hospital.

Resource centre opens
Huron County's Small Business Resource Centre, offering advice on how to set up a small
business, was officially opened Thursday in Clinton. On hand for the opening were (front row,
left to right) Paul Homer, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism Small Business Branch;
Tom Tomes, warden of Huron County; Paul Nichol, community development co-ordinator for
Huron County, Rick Avery, business consultant with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and
Tourism; (back) Kelly Metzger, Resource Centre staff; Paul Klopp, M.P.P. for Huron; Murray
Taylor, mayor of Clinton and Bee Cooke, reeve of Clinton.

The choir sang an anthem. Guest
speaker was Mr. Richard Bain. He
spoke on suffering.
Shuffleboard was held on
Wednesday evening.

Lear and high lady, Helen Lawson.
Fothergill's sister
dies suddenly
The sympathy of the community
is extended to Ted and June
Fothergill and family on the sudden
passing of Ted's sister, the late
Margaret Crich of Clinton.
