This was the second course offered by the club this year as demand for young drivers was high. A total of 44 youths between the ages of 12 and 16 have received instruction in snowmobile driving and safety through the Trailblazers. On Tuesday evening, Dec. 22, the branch held a Christmas theme dart night. Carols were sung by darters who threw a low score. Darting games of "Rudolph", "Mist-L-toe" and "Noel" were played to completely confuse the regular darter and put some Christmas spirit into the evening. The team clearly understanding the rules (although failed to sing when required) was Gord Jacklin and Lawrence Machan and the team completely confused was Jim Pastor Tom Warner preached from 1 Peter 5: 5-11 on Jan. 3, at Brussels Mennonite Fellowship. His theme was "Who is Number One?" Some of the youth led the congregational singing and provided special music. The meeting opened with President Grey choir entertains at banquet Brussels Meals on Wheels banquet was held at the B. M. & G. Community Centre on Dec. 15. About 57 people were served a delicious turkey dinner, after which they were entertained by a musical program. Freda Pipe and Alice Brothers delighted everyone with their piano duets. The choir, of Grade 7 students from Grey Central sang beautiful Christmas songs led by Mr. David Colquhoun accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Whitmore. The most vocal team was Adam Smith, Jean Little and Sandra Josling. Regular Tuesday night darts held Dec. 29 saw the team George Kroll and Lawrence Machan, first and Dave Adams and Sandra Josling, second. High shooters were Kathy Cochrane and Lawrence Machan both shooting 140's. The last euchre night for 1992 went out with a storm. Those braving the weather to play enjoyed a friendly evening of cards, a light lunch and a beautiful tray of sweets supplied by Helen Dobson. Euchre Martin and Darren Hemingway made up the group. On New Year's Eve a skating party was held at the B. M. & G arena and a program and social time followed at the church. Four of the seniors, Martin and Catherine Baan, Margaret McLeod, and Carl Siemon were in charge of the program. Helen Elliott leading in prayer. The carol, Angels We Have Heard on High, was sung. The secretary's report was given by Ruby Steiss and the treasurer's report by Marguerite Krauter. The scripture from Luke 2 verses 1-7 was read by Helen Elliott. The meditation on "Hope of Christmas" was given by Helen Elliott which was followed by prayer. The carol, 0 Little Town of Bethlehem was sung. Isobel Gibson gave a reading on composers of hymns. Leona Armstrong read about a family results were, high man, Gordon Nichol; high lady, Helen' Dobson; low man, Ross Brighton; low lady, Verna Tunney; most lone hands, Dorothy Dilworth and Bill Little; most zeros, Erma Brighton and Shirley (Sam) Hopper. The next euchre night is Wed., Jan. 6. The next executive meeting at the branch is Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. The next general meeting is Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. Members are urged to attend. The executive, staff and members of Branch 218 Brussels would like to extend special greetings for the holidays and all the best to all in 1993! Some of the Brussels youth travelled to Wellesley to see the New Year in with the Wellesley Youth Group. The Junior youth (grades seven and eight) have an activity evening planned for Friday, Jan. 8.
