The Kinloss Slo Pitch. baseball team defeat-
ed the Port Albert Bulldogs to win the Kin.
Summerfest tournament Sunday. Team cap-

The Dungannon Agricultural Society is
hosting its 7th annual men's Slo-Pitch
:tournament this weekend, .June 29, and 30
and July '1.. Formerly, the tournament has
been held on the first weekend in August.
This year 16 teams are competing in a true
double knockout. In this type of tournament,
each team, keeps playing until it loses two
games. Trophies, will be awarded to the top
two teams. The winners will also receive
$400 while J$30O will be, the prize for the
runners up. .•
As an added attraction, ball players and
fanswill be treated to a free dance on
Saturday evening, June 30, from 9' to 1 with
the Star Spinners providing the music. At 10
p.m. a special draw will be held for all 16
teams involved in the .tournament with' the
winning team. receiving $100.
On. Sunday, a light buffet will be available
at the Dungannon hall from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Also, on Sunday, the Dungannon -Nile Youth
Group will show films for the childrenitorn 2
to 4 p.m: at the Dungannon United Church
for SOc . per child. Refreshments will be
available at a very reasonable cost.

Outlaws, Lucknow Crystallizers, Goderich
Green Machine, Dungannon Blue Devils,
Grodenrich Chrystlers, Goderich. Ernie's Road-
house Raiders, Benmiller Corn Huskers,
Blyth Houston;" Lanesville . Lords, Port
Albert Bulldogs, Nile, Carlow, Blyth, Bee
Line Boomers. .
As usual, there wiill be no' admission
charge for the games so bring- the whole
; family to the Dungannon Agricultural
Society's . Slo-pitch . Ball Tournament this
weekend. ..

Twenty six teams played 22 games of ball
on four diamonds Sunday to complete the
in. Summerfest Slopitch ball tournament
which had been delayed a week by last
Sunday's rainy weather.
Kinloss won the men's championship and
Lucknow's 'Noisy Ladies won the ladies'
division championship, The; Lucknow Cryst-
allizers took the men's consolation round
and North -Ashfield won, the ladies consola-
tion.
In the semi-finals, Kinloss defeated the
Teeswater Ball Busters and the Bull Dogs
beat the Lucknow. Six Shooters to enter the
championship round. Bull Dogs lost -the
championship game 17 - 10 to Kinloss.
The Crystallizers defeated the Monarch'
Maroons 12 - 5 in the consolation champ-
ionship after defeating the Point •Clark
takers in semi-final play: The Maroons
defeated the Landsville Lords in the
semi-finals to advance to thechampionship
game.
In the ladies ' division,. the Noisy Ladies
defeated the Lucknow Phiilies in the
semi-final round while the Hanover J.J.s
beat Goderich Ron Shell. The Noisy Ladies
defeated the J.J.s.in a 3 - 2 squeaker to win
the 'championship.
In the ladies consolation, North Ashfield
defeated the Hanover Vies 9 - 5 after
advancing to the ' finals by ,defeating the
Whitechurch Tough Cookies. Hanover play-
ed in the chatepionship game after defeating
the Kinloss ladies team.
Barry Kilpatrick of R. 2, Lucknow was the
lucky winner of the ATC in the Kin
Summerfest draw which was made by

ald, assisted by Summerfest chairman, Ron

Most valuable players of the champion-
ship garnes included locals Paul Hamilton of
the- Crystallizers, Kevin Ackert of Kinloss
and Larry Littlechild of the Bull Dogs,
Glenda Morrison of the Noisy Ladies and
Cathy Chisholm of North Ashfield.
Lucknow mites
win four straight
Lucknow Mites won their fourth straight
game of the season edging Port Elgin 9 - 6.
Only a strong pitching performance by
Chris Stevenson saved the day for Lucknow
as he struck out 19 batters. Stevenson
homered for Lucknow and scored two runs.
Rob Crich and Keith Todd also scored two
runs each.
Next ,home game is against Chepstow
June 28. The . team appreciates their team
