[Photo by Sharon Dietz] Raise money for Alzheimer research The residents of Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home held their annual "wheel - walk - a - thon" June 20 with pledges this year going to fund research into the causes and treatment of, Alzheimer's Disease. Twenty-three residents were wheeled by the grade six class of Lucknow Central Public School from the Nursing Home down main street to the Super • Scoop where residents, children and staff enjoyed free ice cream cones courtesy of. Diane Hackett, proprietor of The Super Scoop. Total pledges earned $1,024.00. On Sunday the Pinecrestresidents' council held a strawberry social attended by many family members. The event was part of Pinecrest's observation of Nursing Home Week. The winner of the draw for a wall hanging was Emma Bell, a resident at Pinecrest. Pool staffplans swim programs /Summer's here! And the Lucknow Swim- ming Pool staff have planned a series of programs to suit swimmers of all ages. Included are Bronze and Bronze Cross lessons, Adult lessons, Parents and Tots, the popular •Early Morning Swim, Ladies Exer- cise Class, Public Swims and children's swimming lessons. - A swim team will also be organized with plans to participate in swim meets. The Fitness Swim has been revived with a new time convenient for everyone. • Anyone wishing to register for any of the programs can do so at the pool.
