Farm safety club

The first meeting of the new Farm ,Safety
Club was held on May 29 at the Lucknow
Co-op's board room.
Nine members were present for this
meeting but if anyone is still interested in
taking the club they are welcome to come
the next meeting which will take place at one
cif the ;four 'farm machinery dealers.
*here and when the meetings are going
to,be herd was discussed and decided upon.
Tie , club chose its programs for each
;sq; eting. ^In June the club 'will be talking
about tractor safety and common machine
hazards. During July it was decided to talk
about farm fire safety and wood stoves. In
August dangerous farm gases will. be
discussed. Also during August" the club's
achievement program will take place. The
club decided taking at St. John Ambulance
course would be a good achievement
program.
The members enjoyed a bottle of pop
courtesy of the Lucknow Co-op for refresh-
ment:
Mites win game
Lucknow Mites soft ball team won their
third straight game of the season, defeating
Cargill 13 - 5. Lucknow pitchers put in a good
game. Stevenson, Murray and Todd com-
bined to strike out 18 batters.
Rob Crich homered for Lucknow while '
Brad Rhody and Colin Humphrey each
scored 2 runs.
