Anita Claudette Guay of Lucknow became
the bride of Ronald Allen Elliott of R. 4,
Ripley/ at Lucknow Presbyterian Church on
November 3, 1984. Rev. Allison Ramsay
officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Claude Guay. of Lucknow and the
groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Elliott of Ripley. Lana Sanderson of
Lucknow, 'friend of the bride, was maid of
honourand Anne Hamilton, 1,,,ucicnow, friend
of the bride and Heather Howald, R. 5,
Lucknow, cousin of the bride were brides-
maids. Danielle Stanley, Lucknow, niece of
the groom, was flower girl. Len Smith of
Ripley, friend of the groom, was best man
and Wayne Elliott, Barrie, brother of the
groom and Raymond Guay, Lucknow,
brother of / the bride were ushers. A
reception • was, held' at .Lucknow District
Community Centre. Following a honeymoon
to Jamaica, the couple are residing at R. 4,

signed for members and others who are ill.
Edna Boyle was convener and presided
for the Christmas program. She, played
Star of the East. Mrs. Bert Nicholson read
the Christmas story from St. Luke.
Agnes Hodgins read the story from the
Living Message, written by the Rev. Ron
Ferris of the Yukon, entitled Mary
McLeod, which told of how her prayer life
had given her strength.
Rev. Merelyn Letson spoke so nicely on
the real meaning of Christmas. A period of
carol singing followed. Joyce Hedley and
Mary Boyle did a Christmas playette that
May had written entitled, No Roon in. the
Inn. Joyce took the part of the Inn Keeper
and May took the part of Joseph, which
concluded with the singing of Away in
Manger:
Agnes Hodgins gave a humorous
reading about the church goer or the one
that won't go. Mrs. David Haldenby gave
the reading, It's That Time of Year Again.
Mrs: Wilford Wall gave the meditation
and prayer froth daily devotions and also a
poem, Follow the Star. Louisa Schneller
read, Baby's First Christmas.
The closing carol was, Joy to the World,
and Mrs. David Haldenby thanked the
hostesses. Mayassisted by Mrs. iJohn
Visser served lunch after which the gift
exchange took place.

The Presbyterian W.M.S. December
meeting on Wednesday was a pot luck
noon dinner at the church. The meeting

was opened by the president, . Mrs: Tom
McDonald reading a poem followed by a
carol.
Mrs. Don Robertson gave the treasurer's
report. The roll call was, Tell something
about Christmas, meaningful to you.. Mrs.
Bruce Bushell played a Christmas Carol on
the piano.
Mrs. Bert Thompson read the scripture
and gave a lovely Christmas devotion.
Carol singing was enjoyed and the
meeting closed with prayer after which
they shunt -in cheerier boxes were packed.
Host Chri stmas tea or neighbours and *friends
and two granddaughters in London and
also with their son, daughter -in -la* and
grandson, Russell, Lesley and Scott Mon-
crief in Aylmer.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Coleman of Court-
ney Crescent, Point Clark', had their annual
Christmas Tea and social gathering for a
number of their friends and neighbours on
Sunday afternoon at their home. Bob and
Theresa Campbell, Gerald and Marg
Courtney, Len and Rovie Elms, Bob and
Joyce Courtney, Bus and Lillian Portland,
Lloyd and Paula Reid and Cecil and Norma
Humphrey attended. They all had a wond-
erful social afternoon. A, lovely lunch and
refreshments weref served by the host and
hostess. son, Dan Rose, his wife, Ruth and three
grandchildren,. Allison, David and Sherry
Sympathy is extended to the family of
the late Elizabeth Stothers, who passed
away very suddenly at a nursing home in
Durham, in her 90th year. Mrs. Stothers
was a former resident of the Lochalsh area,
was a wonderful neighbour and friend for
all who knew her. She is survived by one

The monthly meeting of the W.M.S. of,
the Ashfield Presbyterian Church was held
at the home of Rhoda MacKenzie in
Lucknow.
Mrs. Gordon Robb visited on Wednes-
day in Hanover with her daughter, son -in -
Donald MacLennan, of Clinton and of Markdale and several step -children. law and granddaughter, Bob, Sandra and
Audrey visited on. Thursday afternoon with Elizabeth Wilkins of Toronto, daughter Heather Darling.
