students home for the holiday
First of the local university students home
for the 1984 Christmas holiday season is Lori
Peterbaugh, daughter. of Don• and Ruby
Peterbaugh of Ripley. Lori is in her final or
senior year at Brescia College, Western
University; London.
Paper delivery girl Miss Debbie 'Taylor of
William Street in Ripley suffered an injury
to her right arm while skating recently.
Mrs. Marilyn Johnston of Ripley Street in
Ripley was the nurse at the Ripley and
District Medical Centre on Tain street last
week. Regular nurse Mrs. Carol Johnson of
Highway 9 was ;pn vacation. Each Year
Carol divides her, annual holidays into a
summer part and other in December
Last Thursday afternoon Fran Wylds was
taken by ambulance to Kincardine and
District .Hospital for treatment. In room 109
with her are Ada Farrell and Charlotte
MacDonald - both of Ripley. Also in the
hospital are Jim'Lowry and Jim Moirier of
Ripley.
Mrs. Helene • (George) Vander Glas of
William Street was out on.Monday morning
delivering copies of the Advance List 'for the
1985 Ripley Huron Fall Fair. This list takes
in the ladies work for classes 4 to 11
inclusive as in the 1984 printed list if you still
have a copy available.
Tomorrow is Thursday Dec: 20 - the pick
up day for those Ripley and District Lions
Club boxes for the needy here. They are
located in different stores. Herethey, are in
Lynn Nicholson Grocery store . and the.

Mrs. Wesley Osborne passed away
suddenly last week in Kincardine. The
funeral arid committal service were held in
Kincardine. Sympathy is extended to her
husband Wes, her . daughter Edith, Mrs.
Charles Smith of the 15th north in Huron
Township, and to her two sons Jim of
Burlington' and John of Kincardine..
May all-, readers of this column have a
Merry Christmas next Tuesday Dec. 25.
Following a delicious Christmas potluck
luncheon the Ripley Women's Institute en-
joyed carols led by Minnie Lock and Violet
MacKenzie. Peggy Chappell read a
Christmas story by Pearl Buck which was
interesting: President Sadie McLeod read a
Christmas poem.
An auction :sale of homemade baking was
held,proceeds for the shut-ins auctioned by
Minnie Lock. The roll call was to introduce
your, guest either a special friend (and: or)
your Tuck. Shop assistant during the sum-
mer. A donationof $75 was voted to be given
to the Lions Club to assist in their collecting
for the needy at Christmas.

Gladys Arnold on Sunday.
The Ripley United Church Christmas
Concert was held on Shnday afternoon.
Santa Claus paid an early visit to the Play
School last Tuesday.
Doug and Shirley MacDonald spent the
weekend in Kitchener where they' attended
Doug's campany's Christmas. party.
Grandpa John stayed with the MacDonald
children.

Wednesday night!
Wilda, and . Harvey Thompson were
Saturday evening dinner guests' of Dawn
and Fred Young, Dungannon.
The Bervie United Church Women held
their Christmas meeting at Wilda

Kimberley Dawn Rae of Wingham were
united in marriage at St: Peter's Anglican
Church, Lucknow on November. 15, 1984 by
Rev. Merelyn Letson. The bride is the
daughter of Don and Vera. Rae of Wingham
and the groom's parents are Tom and .Evelyn
Phillips of R. R. 5, Holyrood. Bonnie .Ablett,
friend of the bride, Wingham ' was maid, of.
honour and Julie Nichol, friend of the bride,
Wingham 4nd Chris McGee, . sister of the
bride, R. '3, Wingham were bridesmaids.
Anita Phillips, niece of the groom, Hensall
was flower girl and Mark Phillips, nephew of
the groom;' Goderich, was ring bearer. Ken
Irwin, friend of the groom, R. 3, Lucknow,
was best man and Grant Phillips, brother, Of
the groom,',12. 1; Wingham and Jim McGee,
brother-in-law of the bride, R. 3, Wingham
were ushers. A reception followed at the
Lucknow Legion ' Hall. The couple are
residing at 568 Campbell Street, Lucknow.
