Chalmers church Sunday Schoolpresents Christmas concert
On Sunday • a congregational pot .luck
dinner was held in the Whitechurch Com-
munity Memorial Hall with a large crowd
in attendance.
After the dinner Chalmers Church
Sunday School concert was held with Mr.
Rod Lamb, chairman. '
Opening choruses were The Christmas
Candy Calendar and I Am So Glad on
Christmas .Eve. The program included an
opening recitation, Scott Rintoul; play,
Nancy's Dream; clarinet solo, Mary McIn-
tosh and HughSinnamon; film, Christmas
in Germany; piano solo, Karen Elliott;
Emmanuel God's Love for Us, a short
• . Christmas, worship service; musical duet,
Kim Laidlaw and Agnes Farrier and the
film., The Christmas Messenger.
Dungannon United Church
On the third Sunday' in Advent Rev.
Roberts gave his sermon on the verse: But
to. all who received him, who believed in his
name, he gave power to become children of
God.
The choir sang, On a Day When Men
Were. Counted. Flowers were placed in the
church in . memory of Mary Bere's aunt,
Mrs._,Steve Stothers, whose funeral was in
Lucknow last week.
Following the sermon, Bessie Bere, one
of the lay representatives who attended the
Trinity meeting; gave a presentation to
give more information to the congregation
and to allow them to ask • questions or
express .concerns.
The C.G4.T. girls with leaders Penny.
Hodges and Ellen Errington . presented
their Vesper Service on Sunday evening.
With ten girls taking part in speaking and
singing, it was an impressive service.

baby of Ingersoll visited on Sunday. with
Mr. and Mrs. Jack McGuire and also called
on Mr. and Mrs. Jim Black and Natalie.
Jana and. David Black of Hamilton spent
the weekend with' Mr. and Mrs. Walter.
Black of Lucknow and . visited on Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs Jim Black and Natalie.
Mrs. Ron McGulire,` Chris and Scott
spent Sunday and Monday visiting with her
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Mark Burgess and Michael of Kitchener,
Bette Jeffery of London .visited for a
couple of days with her daughter, and
son-in-law,' Kathy and Jim Black and
granddaughter, Natalie.
SOUTH KINLOSS

Bob and June Gilchrist and Danny held
the Gilchrist Christmas at their home on
Saturday. Those attending were Gordon
and Shirley MacDonald and family, Steve
and Mary Helen Carter of Orangeville;
Murray and Dale Gilchrist of Toronto and
Marilynn Maclntyre. and Grant and Denise
Gilchrist.
On Sunday they attended the Stewart
family. Christmas held in the Ripley Legion
hall.
The Young Peoples of South Kinloss and
Lucknow Presbyterian Churches were
practising for their Christmas Eve service
that is to be held at the Lucknow church on
December 24 at '8 o'clock.
The annual 'pot luck dinner was held on
Sunday at South' Kinloss Church; The
Sunday School concert followed the dinner.
Many attended the annual •Christmas
Carolfest held in, the Lucknow United
Church on Wednesday. South Kinloss
choir participated in the very lovely
musical entertainment for the evening.

The closing song was Santa Claus is
Corning to Town.
All joined in. singing, We Wish You a
Merry Christmas,; Santa Claus arrived and
distributed the gifts from the tree.
Kendra and Kathy Purdon were home
'for the . weekend with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Archie Purdon.

Emerson were Tom Inglis and Mr_. and
Mrs, Bill Ross of Lucknow..
