Church observes Sunday School rally
On Sunday, November 25, the worship
service at Lucknow United Church was in
the form of a Sunday School Rally Day.
Elaine Irwin, the Sunday School Superin-
tendent, and Brenda Gibson presented the
message in the form of a dialogue on the
theme, Growing Together In Christ.
Scripture: readings were read by Daryl
Graham, Angela Boyd, and Adrian helm,
The Prayer of Confession was composed by
the . Grade 7 - 8 class; and was led by
Heather Priiestap. The Grade 5 - 6 class
wrote the Litany of Thanksgiving, which
was led by Dale Priestap.
Prior to the service, a piano prelude was
supplied by Eric McDougall, Daryl
Graham, and Bonnie Henderson, The
Sunday School, choir sang a number of
choruses and hymns at two points in the
service.

Church held a pot luck supper on Sunday
evening at the home of Warren and Lynne
McDougi, Following a delicious meal,
plans were made for the White Gift Service
and also for Carolling.
The congregation of Lucknow United
Church is looking forward to many special
events, during the Advent • season. The
CGITgirls are busy preparing for their
annual Vesper Service on December 9; the
Co munity Carolfest will be held in the
Church on December 12; the Youth Group
will conduct the worship seryiee on White
Gift Sunday, which is always the third
Sunday in Advent; the Youth Group will be
Carolling on December 22, the Sacrament
of Holy Communion will be celebrated on
the morning of December •23; and the
Sunday School Christmas. Concert will be
on the evening of December 23.
A special emphasis over the . past two
Sundays has been placed on raising funds
for assisting in the relief of -the Ethiopian
famine. Many families have made gener-
ous contributions to this fund, which will
be administered by the Mission and
Service department of the United Church
of Canada.
Students enjoy hay ride at Lambton heritage museum

On Wednesday Mrs. Graham's grade
four class and Mrs. Tebbut's grade four
class went to Lambton Heritage Museum
for the day. They did quill paper craft,
decorated a candle, had a hay rideand
visited a pioneer home and church.
Lois Farrish was the guest story reader
in Mrs. Worsell's : grade three class on

Children's films at 1 p.m. Saturday after-

Wednesday. The grade three class also did
book reports and projects to *celebrate
Children's. National Book Festival. Grade 3 BROOKSIDE
enjoyed the film, The Violin, along with BROADCAST
Mr. Sygrove's class on Friday.
On Tuesday and Thursday the junior
girls and junior boys teams played volley-
ball'
olleyball' games with Lucknow teams at noon
hours.
The Kindergarten classes are learning
striped wall paper.
Susan Thompson of Lucknow graduated on
Saturday, November 24th as a Computer
Programmer/Analyst at the Fall Convoca-
tion at Conestoga College, Kitchener. Susan
was one of those named to the President's
Honour List for achieving an A standing in
all courses in her final year. Attending the
graduation were her parents, Bev and Don
Thompsonand sister, Donalda of Lucknow,
sister, Nancy of London, grandmother,
