and Mrs, Robert Mole, Dungannon and
David Gordon McLellan, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Clem McLellan of Brussels exchang-
ed marriage vows at Brussels Presbyterian
Church on October 5, 1984.Rev. Jamieson
officiated with Mrs. Brothers as organist.
Matron of honour was Joanne Wilkins and
bridemaids were Nancy Philips, Gail
Kemp and Peggy McLellan. Best man was
Max McLellan. Ushers were Bill Mole,
Carl McLellan and Alvin McLellan. A
reception followed at Brussels Community
Centre. Following their honeymoon the
happy couple are residing in Walton.

Mac plays pipes at Remembrance service
David MacDonald and Mac Webster of.
Kincardine, played their bagpipes in
Paisley on -Sunday, November 11 for the
Remembrance Day service. Mac Webster
has been playing in the Remembrance Day
service for approximately twenty years and
was ably; to be out again this year.
Congratulations Mac. Hope you will be
able to make it for many more years to
come.
Visiting with Charles and Mayme Wilk-
ins onthe weekend and at different times
through the week' were two of their.
daughters,, Barbara Wilkins of Paris,
Elizabeth Wilkins . of Toronto and, also
/Laura and Mabel Campbell of Toronto.

on the safe arrival of their wee daughter,
Janice Anne,.. who weighed . in at seven
pounds, one . ounce. The proud grandpar-
ents are Lester and Audrey Ferguson of the
area. .
Visiting with Rhetta MacLennan for a
couple of days was her daughter, Florence
MacLennan of. Kitchener.
Cecil and Jim Webster of Waterloo, sons
of Wellington and Kae Webster; • were
home on the weekend and on Friday
evening they attended the first meeting of
the season for the Snow Birds Snowmobile
Club in Kincardine.
When Kae Webster was talking to her
two sisters in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on
the weekend, she found that even if the
weather was miserable here it was better
than out there. Although that day was nice, �r
they ,were- contending with four foot snow LOCHALSH
drifts in their back yards (in the city) which
had accumulated from three, snow storms. by Kae Webster
Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs,
Gordon Robb were their daughter,, son-in-
law and granddaughter, Bob, Sandra and
Heather Darling of Hanover.
On Saturday Warren and , June Wylds
had their daughter and son-in-law, John
and Donna Zimmerman of London and •on '
Sunday they had Mrs. Wylds' mother,
• Irene Stone of Goderich and also their son
and granddauthter, Kenny and .Melanie
Wylds of Goderich.
A number_ of couples of the area
attended the Legion banquet and dance on
Saturday evening in the Legion Hall in.
Lucknow.

congratulations to Elden and Alma Lowry
of Ripley, formerly of the Pine River area,
on the occasion of . their 50th wedding
anniversary held recently.
The Ashfield Presbyterian . Church
W.M.S. held its monthly meeting Thurs-
day afternoon at 'the home of June' Wylds.

The U.C.W. of the Pine River United
Church held. its November meeting at the
home of Mrs. Bob Scott with 28 ladies
present. ,

The meeting was opened by the presid- .
Olt, Mrs. Allah Farrell.
The meeting was then turned over to the
conveners, Marianne Smeltzer and Mrs.
Delbert Wilson, Mrs. Smeltzer led in
prayer and Mrs. Wilson read a scripture
from the Bible. Mrs. Smeltzr'read a. poem
on Remembrance. Mrs. Wilson. led in
prayer.
Mrs. Wilson introduced the . guest
speaker for the evening, Jessie Clark of the
Kincardine area. Mrs. Clark showed slides
and gave a very interesting talk on . the
General . Council 'which was ' held in August
1983 in Morden, ; Manitoba. She was a
delegate chosen/from the Bruce Presbytery
along with six others.•
The slides. were very interesting on the
many events which took place in the ten
days of General Council. Mrs. Clark said
it'was very interesting but also very tiring.
There were a number of invited guests
from different parts of the world, and about
four hundred in'attendare. '
The minutes of the last meeting were
ready by Norma Humphrey. Business was
discussed: Mrs. `Fairell led in prayer.
Competes in Queen's Guineas: competition at Royal Winter Fair
Several from Purple Grove. attended and
competed at the Rdyal Winter Fair in Toron-
tothe past week. Deanna Scott spent Friday
at the Fair. '
David Patterson was.successful in' having
his 4=H calf entered in the Queen's Guineas
Competition at the Royal. Accompanying.
David to Toronto were -his parents Gordon
and Ruthe Patterson.
Shirley, Andrew, Sheena and Stephan.
MacDonald spent a few days at the Royal.,
Andrew's oat sheaf placed 6th in the .com-.
petition..
John and Joyce Farrell, Bill and Judy
Geddes attended the Fair. John competed in
the Canadian Sheep Shearing .Competition
and placed 1th out of 21. Teresa and Tania
Farrell stayed with Don and Anne McCosh;
Tobi and. Jenny, with 13111 and Marg Van
Rboyen.
Purple Greve ladies served dinner to the
Ripley Lions Club on Wednesday evening.

sister Eleanor Steubbing in Kitchener.
The 4-H ,girls held their meeting at Ber-
nice Burt's where they were shown how to
set up a quilt. Then each girt put a few stit-.
°hes in it.
The sympathy of the community is ex-
tended to Francis and Irene Boyle and fami-
ly and to the Farrell family in the sudden
death of Irene's brother Glen Farrell.
