Celebrate golden wedding anniversary
Harvey and Edith- Webster of Lucknow
celebrated their 50thwedding anniversary
on Saturday,: September 29, 1984 with an
open houseat the Lucknow United Church
followed by a dinner for family and friends.
Harvey Webster of Lucknow married the
former Edith Shirley of Toronto on Septem-
ber 29, 1934 at Woodbine United Church by
Rev. Annis.
They have a.family of three, a son, George
of Ottawa, and two daughters, Elizabeth
Ann Hunt of Listowel and the late Nancy
Pym of St. Catharines, .eight grandchildren,
and two great grandchildren. Present for the
occasion were their daughter, Elizabeth
Ann, her husband, Roy, their threesons,
and their wives, as well as Harvey and
Edith's two great grandchildren, Benjamin
and Cameron Hunt. Also present were Terry
Pym, Jennifer and Jason of St, Catharines,
and Edith's sister and her husband, Mr. and.
Mrs. Murray Richardson of Ottawa. Their
son, George phoned his congratulations
from England where he is presently on a
business trip. •
Family and friends attended the celebra-
tion from Edmonton, Alberta, Indianapolis,
Ohio, Ottawa as well as Lucknow and the
surrounding area.
Harvey and Edith are the fourth genera-
tion of Harvey's family to celebrate their
golden wedding anniversary as his great
grandparents, grandparents and parents did
before them.

The Dungannon Agricultural Society held
its monthly meeting at the hall on Tuesday,
September 25 with eleven people present.
Members received very good news from
the treasurer, Lynda McNee. At the present-
time thereis a bank balances of $3,477.37.
Usually, funds are extremely low or nil after
paying fair expenses each. year, so members
were pleased to see that all the time and
work used during the Society's summer
events were not in vain. Also, as usual, the
generous donations from. area individuals,
and businesses were a great asset. With
pleasure, it was decided tOpay the last 32000.

Plans were started for future events,
starting with the Hallowe'en Dance. It will
be held on Saturday, October 27 from 9 p.m.
to 1 a.m. with judging of costumes at it p.m.
sharp. Prizes will be given for: most
humorous, most original, best dressed man,
best dressed lay and best dressed couple.
Admission will be $3.00» per person at the
door and will include a lunch of rolls, cold
cuts and relishes.
Eurchre tournaments for this winter were
also discussed. The first tournament will be
held on Saturday afternoon, November 24:
Along with » the fun of euchre, » a series of
contests for homebaked cakes will also be a
special feature: Future tournaments are
scheduled for January 26, February 23, and
March 23.
On . Thursday, October 18 the Ladies
Section will gather at 1 p.m. at the hall to
