The 1984 Ripley fall fair is now •historY•
Everyone seems quite pleased with it. On
this Monday morning looking back everyone
seems quite pleased with it. The comrnents
heard were either "It was a good show or
"It was a great fair". Our thanks goes to
Gm:14°r providing the nice, sunny, dry day
on Saturday, Sept. 29. _
The parade at noon was a long one with
many, floats and great variety. Heading it
was the.Kincardine OPP cruiser with
Of-
ficer:George Ling driving. Following it was
Miss GlendaGamble daughter of Allan and
Alice Gamble riding her chestnut brown
horse and then the ever -popular Kincardine .
Scottish Pipe Band. -
Officer Ling parked his cruiser in the mid-
dle of the main intersection so that with its
flashing lights it blocked any traffic from
the north and east..So from the Intersection'
on down to the Memorial Park ,(the ball
field) it ,Was Glenda on her horse and the
Pipe Band leading the prade.. Oh yes, there
were two steam engines in the parade -
Finlay •MaeDonaldia engine from Lochalsh.
and Graham Cook's engine from Ripley.
Then there were those fancy dressed hitch-
ed teams of,horsesand floats to no end.

.Register now
Lucknow Minor Hockey registration was
held last Sittircfay:with only 50% registra-
tion. The Lucknow Rec. Department is
obligated to •• the league to submit total
registration prior to grouping meetings
which are held early in October.
• With only 50% registration it is very
difficult for the department to estimate, total
enrolment in. • the program, therefore. early
registration' is stressed. Organization by
• caches is alsO-made very difficult without a
• full roster of mimes. •
If you did not register your , child for
hockey last Staturday, please go .to the Rec
• DFpartment office as soon as possible.
,A coaches meeting will be held Wednes-
day, October 3, 8:30'p.m. in the Town Hall

Everybody Helping Out
It was quite an experience to walk into the
Ripley Complex on Monday evening last
week Sept. 24. The arena floor was alive
with people - all at different places and all
busy.
• It seems that many were there at seven
for the big • fall fair work meeting.
'Everybody had the attitude "Let us get this
job done rightnow". So by nine all the tables
and display stands were set up. And most
covered with plastic material.
Across the front of the arena president of
the lady directors Mrs. Linda Campbell of
Atriberley had her groups at work. On hand
were these ladies Mary Ann Forster, Wilma
Sutton, Barb Messenger, Pat Chatham, Gail ^
wilder Hoek, Alice Gamble, Susan Van
Sickle, Diane Brooks, Judy Colling,
Margaret Smith, Carol Blackwell, Helen Ir-
win, Ruby Walden, Helen Vander Gists,
