Miner, a former St. Helen's minister, After the ser- vice the congregation enjoyed an hour of fellowship while the ladies of the church served lunch. The church will be closed in June next year. . Jewitt teaching Grade 2; Lois Ottewell teaching ' Grades 2=3; Al Sygrove, teaching Special Learning Needs Class; Rudie Hooftrnan teaching French Grades 3-8 and En- vironmental Studies in Grade 5. Miss Jewitt is already familiar with Brookside as she taught Grade 11ast spring while Mrs. Young was on maternity leave. . Pat Allen and Lois Tebbutt took the Prin- cipal's Course at Huron College, London duringthe summer. Mary Beretook two courses at Western University in the summer to finish the fif- teen courses needed - for a B.A. She graduates at the fall convocation at Univer- sity of Western Ontario at the end of Oc- tober. --- Several Brookside pupils won prizes in the Historical Models Contest sponsored by the Huron County Historical Society at the Dungannon Fair. The winners were Danny Kerr, Christina Todd, Lillian MacAulay, Lisa ' Cairncross, . Janice Webster, Keith King and Jamie Chisholm. - Mrs. Tebbutt's Grade 4 class has 25 pupils attending this year.ti They are making a booklet called, Introducing Me. Mrs: Graham is teaching her class how to mix colours. They helped to decorate the float for Lucknow Fair. Soccer teams are being organized for both seniors and juniors. Intermural soccer has already started forstudents on the senior wing.=• A 50 Km. Club is beingstarted for everybody with" prizes awarded for those who complete' 50 kilometres. ' Three laps around the track equals one kilometre. Pupils' in Mrs. Allen's Grade 5 in Room 10 are doing a Pioneer Unit and planninga trip to the museum in Goderich to study Pioneer farming implements. Kindergarten classes are learning a dif- ferent colour each day: At the painting and pasting centres they use the colour of the clay, even thepaste being coloured. They have made, brown bears, orange things, green pickles, and purple flowers. Darlene Ellison is Area -Resource Teacher •(ART) for Learning Exceptionalities and will be coming to Brookside on Tuesday and, Wednesday mornings. Charlotte Fanjoy is Speech Consultant and will be coming on the same days. Gwen Scott will be the School nurse for the fall term . and o will come to Brookside; on Thursdays.
