The 12 Pathfinders and ,three leaders

they stayed for four days' at Baden Powell

While in England, Donalda says, they
visited such places as Westminster Abbey,
St. Paul's cathedral, and saw the changing
of the guard, •

The group then went ' on ' to Germany,.
where -they rented two vans and spent eight
days touring around the country; visiting
Munich, Ulm and. Frankfurt, and staying ' in
hostels : along the way.
Then itwas on to chaletin the Swiss

Adelboden. The Switzerland chalet is one of
only : four international houses for : Girl
Guides in the ' world. •
Donalda met Guides from,: Norway. •Scot-
land, , Finland, the MS. and England
while .staying at the Guest Centre in Switzer-
land. The girls were there for ten days,. and
spent much sof that time hiking in the

Donalda says the mountain hiking was

'certainly so nething different • to: do,. and
although it was hot work it was fun, She says
the weather was usually hot there during/
their trip, and sometimes too hat for
travelling.
While in Switzerland, .the girls also spent.
four days billeted with families in, a town
called Bienne-Biel; Donalda and another girl

The giris.were also acting as ambassadors.
from Canada to other guides from else-
where,. although Donalda says that "some of
them. knew a lot more about Canada than I.
would know about their countries.", Some.
people seemed .very interested. in Canadf,t
and Donalda remembers one girl in
particular from Englandwho, really wants to
come here because of an Ontario ad she; saw
on television.
Donalda has been in: the guiding move-
ment for nine years, and is now in her last
• year of. Pathfinders. Next year. she hopes to
go on to Rangers, although Lncknow does '
not yet have an organized Rangers division...
. The details of the trip were arrangedby
the three leaders who chaperoned.the girls,
and by Carroll. McKim of Lucknow, ` who .`
the International Co-ordinator for the Mapl

to other countries. ,
Mrs: McKim 'says that although some
the expenses: are ,paid by the area gukii
association, the girls, who went on the tri
had to— am a lot M their own money,
Next -year,, Mrs. McKim hopes that
area can host a group of -Guides from anoth
