sheds in Goderich thanks to the artistic talentsoftheir daughter, Joanne Smith of St.
Helens. Joanne recently spent a Sunday afternoon painting Bambi characters on the shed.
She changes the characters every .few years and in the past she has featured Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs, Raggedy Ann and Andy; the Peanuts gang and Bugs Bunny qnthe

Cycles in Vermont
Klizabeth Wall of Toronto, after a week of
cycling in Lake. Placid, New York and
Stowe, Vermont, visited here for a few days
., with her father, Harry Wall of Luclmow.
Mites' defeat ,Ripley
On August 3 Lucknow defeated Ripley 25-
8. Keith Todd struck ' out 12 batters. Brad
Rhody had four hit§, Chris Stevenson three,
Clint Murray two, Joel Sutton two, and Rob
Crich, Keith Todd, 'Dennis; Cuillerier, Jason
Stanley and David' Carter one each.

their regular schedule and begin playoffs

ed -the season with a 50-50 record which is
credible for a first year team in the league.

awanosh' objects to drainage proposal
The . August session of West Wawanosh
o. Township Council was held in the' Office of
the Municipal Garage on Wednesday even-
ing, August 1, 1984. All members attended ;
Reeve Aitchison presided.
The minutes of the July meeting were
adopted as printed on motion of Councillors
Hickey and Todd. carried.
Cecil Cranston requested • Council's per-
mission to install a culvert across Sideroad
18-19 at Lot 18; Concession 7, and permission
was granted.
Brian. Brindley _ asked Council for ap-
proval for drainage of his property at Lot 24.
Concession 7. The Ministry . of Natural
Resources had given. Brindley approval to
clean out the creek on his property, . but
directed that the natural creek .bed MUST
be followed. To divert the water he was in-
formed that written permission from, the
Township andtwo other landowners was 're-
quired. The . Township did not give its 'ap-
proval , because an increased flow of wafter
would be injurious to the bridge at the road.
Motion .Councillors Todd. and Hickey:
"That the Township of West W'awanosh
hereby authorizes the Building Inspector to
issue Building Permits to K. Good (mobile
home); G. Morrison (grain bin) and W.
Stalenhoef (barn addition) ." carried.
A tentative date of August 15th was set for
the consideration of the Engineer's report
on the Beyersbei gen Municipal Drain.
The Road Superintendent reported that
the pit run gravel contract was nearing
completion, and the crusher wasscheduled

A.J. Sherwood asked Council for
assurance that work would be done in the
future on Concession Road 2-3. Sherwood'
was informed that construction would be
carried out hi the south end of the Township
next year. ,
Council directed the Clerk to contact the
Engineer on the Plan of OPeration for the
dump to have him attend the September
meeting of Council to discuss the Draft Plan
prepared by him.
By -Law No. 9-84 was given third reading
and finally passed on a motion by Coon -
