Bride and groom leave church

daughter of an .and Sheila ,MaeDonald.' of
the Oth Concession west and Brent Ann+
strong son of Aurel and. Marj Armstrongof
Ripley were inanied in St. Andrews United
Church in. Ripley. The parade from the
church to •the. Ripley. Complex• was
something to see and remember, Leading it
was, the shiny black open landau carriage of
eraser Lamont of the Tiverton - Underwood
area and pulled by his team of matched light
horses.
Seated up front with Fraser was Dan Mac-
Donald, the• bride's father, both dressed in
top hats and tuxedos. Seated in the open part
,of the carriage -was the wedding party -
bride and groom, Linda and Brent, and Gail
. (MacDonald) Coiling and Dale Arrnstrong,
sister and brother of the bride 'and "groom
respectively. The beautiful, WWII, dry, sun-,
•ny day was ideal for this event.
Behind the carriage followed the usual
line Of tars but no horns sounded just .the
clattering sound, of -the horseorilhe pave-

'The 12th annual picnic of the MacDonald
(Farmer) Clan met onAunday with 80 in at-
tendance. It was held at the Lion's Park. in
Huron Township.. A beautiful day helped.

• The prize for the youngest baby Was won by
Jennifer Pollard who didn't seem impresSed
and slept- through most of the afternoon.

the July, meeting of the. Kingsbridge
Cathelic Women's League. Father Ed Den-
tinger opened the meeting Withprayer and
. Cathy Olson read the minutes.
Stephanie Miltenburg reported on
membership 'and Joanne Menary read the
correspondence in the absence of the cor-
responding secretary, Nolda Scott and the
treasurer's report. .
" Spiritual convener Rita Tigert reported
• there were 30 members who attended the
• retreat with Father Morrissey. Agnes Van
•Os& received the citizenship award
• presented by the Kingsbridge, LucknoW and
St. Augristine Leagues:Thirty:members at-
tended .the annual pilgrimage to St Marys
on July 13.
• Bernardine Kinney reported on the
seniors' activities asking for •someone to
•work on the bingo committee. She thanked
• - the CWL members on behalf . of Teresa
Courtney Whci was tinableto attend due to il-
lnessfor *the prayers and masses requested
during their recent bereavement and for the
help with the haying..
'Shirley Martin presented Pete and Betty
Van Osch 'with a plaque to. znark•their 25th
• wedding anniversary. .
• Clarice. Dalton reminded members the
prolife group US hosting a steak and lobster• '
fest later this summer. -
