Last Saturday Linda MacDonald,.
daughter of Dan and. Sheila MacDonald of
the 8th Concession west and Brent Ann4
strong son of Aurel and Marj Armstrong of •
Ripley were married in St. Andrews United
Church in Ripley. -The parade from the
church to the Ripley Complex • was
something to see and remember, leading It
was the shiny black open landau carriage of
Fraser Lamont of the 'Tiverton - Underwood
area and pulled by his team of matched light
horses.
, Seated up front with Fraser was Dan Mac-
Donald, the bride's father,, both dressed in
top hats and tuxedos. Seated in the. open part
of the carriage was the wedding party -
bride and groom, Linda and Brent, and Gail
• (MacDonald) Colling and Dale Arinstrong,
Sister and brother of the bride and groom
respectively. The beautiful, warm, dry, sun-
ny day was ideal for this event
Behind the carriage followedthe usual
line of -ears but no horns soukided just the
clattering sound. of the horses on 'the pave-

ment It was quite impressive reminding
one of the open carriage parades at the
opening of _parliament where the governor
arrives in an open carriage. Seated, on the
front platform here Ab Wylds and Bill
• Robertten, watched the parade around the
bank corner.
The 12th annual• picnic of the MacDonald
(Farmer) Clan met on Sunday with 80 in at-
tendance, It was held at the Lion's Park in
Huron Township. A beautiful day helped
everybody enjoy a picnic lunch and races.
The prize for the youngest baby was won by
.Jennifer Pollard who didn't seem impressed
and slept through- most of the afternoon.

ttend ,pilgrimage to St. Mcirys
President Betty Lou Dalton presided for
the July meeting of the. Kingsbridge
Catholic Women's League. Father Ed Den -
Unger opened the meeting with prayer and
Cathy Olson read the minutes.
Stephanie Miltenburg reported ' on
membership and Joanne 1Vienary. .read the
correspondence in the absence of the cor-
responding secretary, Nolda Scott and the
treasurer's report.
Spiritual 'Convener Rita Tigert reported•
there were 30 members who attendedthe
• retreat with Father Morrissey. Agnes Van
Oseh received th citizenship award
presented by the, Kingsbridge, Lucknow and-.
St. Augustine Leagues. ,Thirty members at-
tended the annual pilgrimage to St. Marys
on July 13.
Bernardine Kinney reported on the
seniors' activities asking for ,someone to
work on the bingo committee. She thanked
the CWL members on behalf of Teresa
Courtney Who was tinable•to attend due to il-•
bless for the prayers and masses requested
dating their recent bereavement and for the
help with thehaying. '
• Shirley Martin presented Pete and Betty.
VanaOsch with a -plaque to mark their 25th
wedding anniversary.
Clarice Dalton reminded merribers, the
prolife group is hosting a steak and lobster
fest later this summer. ,
- Rose Frayn'e is taking orders for
cookbooks.
• Pat Howard and Brother Carl Voll thank,
ed'the ladies for prayers, flowers, cards and
visits while they were hospitalized.
Ann Berry thanked the caterers who serv-
ed the meal at her son's wedding.
• Father Dentinger is planning a bus trip to
Midland on August 8 and members were •
asked to notify Bernardine Kinney if they •
wish to go,.
