What 441 Means to me
4711 to me means opportunities.
It is an opportunity to expand my horizons
by gaining knowledge. I have gained infor-
mation on many topics fromdecorating a
room to making bread to coordinating
clothes. 4-H creates a challenge to meet
e se olarship
deadlines and present standards. I have
gained experience In bookkeeping and keep-
ing up to schedule. 4-H has aided me in
graving leadership qualities.
• 4-H is an opportunity for me to meet new
people and form friendships. The Guelph,.
Conference, which I attended last June, is a
prime example of this, The Conference in-
troduced me to several new people from all
over Ontario. After only three days it was
, hard to Say goodbye. The friendships in my
own Whitechurch club will always be with
me. Through 4-H •I have gained working ex-
perience with people. 4-H is a social event.
Another opportunity available in 4-H is
learning to do by doing". 4-H is a practical
experience. I can now ,needlepoint,
Macrame, sew and quilt. I ha learned to
design floor plans and coordinate colours.
• Cooking meals, preparingsnacks and bak-
ingi
bread will all aid me n my future. My
quality of -baking has improved from the ex-
perience available through 44-14- I am sure
my family would say this factor is a bless-
ig.
4-H is an opportunity to improve my •
starnina, diet and eating habits. The info
tnation presented in 4-14 has made me
• ',Capable of meal planning and balancing a
meal by include th. four necessary.
