The twenty-third annual Shera am •-•Areunion was held in 1962 at the home of Rod amount of macaroni in a jar; the -contest

Prizes, which were donated by Wingham
businesses, were much appreciated, The
larger prizes went to .those winning contests
while those who did not *in also received a
prize to take home, thus' everyone was a
winner!
Officers for the coming year . are:

ident, Myrtle . • Johnstone; vice-president,
,Marion :Johnstone.; secretary -treasurer,
Anne Mclnnes; lunch, Largaret McInnes
and Mary Thornton; sports, Evelyn and

and Anne McInnes; ice cream, Dan and
Anne McInnes,
Next year'sreunion wilt be held at the
same location on the, third Sunday in July
with Lunch at one o'clock. •

with a good .attendance
Grace was sung after which everyone
enjoyed a bountiful noon lunch.
Myrtle Johnstone, president, welcomed
everyone, then a minute's silence was
observed . in memory of those who are no
longer with us.
• Next year -local members will be reminded
about the reunion by word of mouth because
of the high cost of postage.
Anne McInnes, Jean Le Pine and Myrtle
Johnstone were appointed to get information
on 'the family printing of a Sherwood ood and
Twamley family history as a project for the
twenty-fifth reunion in 1986 and report their
findings at next year's reunion. Myrtle
Johnstone reminded everyone that the first
and Margaret McKenzie at, Port Albert with
an attendance of forty-five. Myrtle also read
a list of similarities between the early
Sherwood and Twarnley families as given to
her by Tilly. Gaunt.
Anne McInnes read a chapter from Gavin,
Green's book, The Old Log School, which
included the poem, Dungannon's Lovely
Girls, by Joseph Williamson. This ' was
appropriate as the Sherwoods and Twamleys
settled in Ashfield Township.
Games and contests, in charge of Evelyn
and. David Finnigan assisted by Sandra
Henry proved very interesting and entertain-
ing, '
Some of those winning prizes were Lloyd
Finnigan, champion checker player; the
elimination game . was . won by Jessie
Twamley; Ruby Twamley guessed the

Bob Dawson of Kingston, who was married
July 4 to Bob Doell at Pembroke. Mr. and
Mrs. Doell are now living at Renfrew.
Rena Fisher spent a week with her
daughter, Mary Dawson at Kingston.

Wallace Milligan attended a shower ' for
bride to be, Colleen Bird at Milton last:
Monday evening.
' Brian Falconer and friends . of Sarnia
arrived on Friday. evening to °visit with
Cassie Mowbray, who was away , to Sarnia,
so they had to spend the night in the trailer
at Whitechurch park. a
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ducharme of Goderich
were. Sunday visitors with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs: Elroy Laidlaw.
Eloy Laidlaw attended the Legion Mem-
orial service for Rev. John, Bell on Sunday
evening .at Walkerton. .
Last week Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pardon, Mrs:
Donald Gaunt, Jennifer and Graeme . and
Barbara Carey were on a tour of Ottawa and
the eastern provinces.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gaunt, Jennifer and
Graeme of Chatham spent the weekend with

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon and left for their •
home on Sunday.
Several from here attended the funeral
parlor at Walkerton on Saturday and Sunday
to pay respects, to the late Rev. John Bell.
On Saturday Agnes Farrier attended the
Farrier family picnic held at Riverside Park,
Guelph, where 27 relatives gathered.
On Sunday at Chalmers Presbyterian
Church, Rev. Paul Mills of Wingham was in
charge of the communion service. •
Mr. • and Mrs. Don Ross were at St.
Catharines on Sunday to . attend a meeting
concerning'a trip to England this fall, which
they intend to take. •

The Education and Cultural Activities
meeting of Whitechurch Women's Institute
was held on July 11 in Whitechurch
Community Memorial Hall. The president, -
Mrs. Currie conducted the opening exercises
and read a poem, Whatever Happened to
Whistling?
A thank you was : extended to • Mae
Johnston and Jean McGuire for organizing
the trip to the play; Garrison Garage at
Blyth.

The roll call was answered by bringing an
article of craft work you did. .
The motto, Do not 'spend all your times
polishing the tools, instead of hoeing in the
garden, was read by Merle Wilson; A report
of the Bruce South District annual meeting
was given by Merle Wilson.
Merle Wilson also introduced Mary. Hen-
derson . of Lucknow who gave a ..' film
presentation of : New Guinea where her son,'
Jim was sent by Canadian University Service
Overseas to teach language to . the native
children. He also taught science and agricul-
ture. Gertrude Durnin thanked Mrs. Hend-
erson and presented her with a gift.
Jean Tiffin conducted a sing song: The
hostess was Mrs. Johnston Conn and
convener Merle Wilson. •
Lunch was served by Mrs. Dave Gibb,
Mrs, Tom Day and Mrs. Fred Tiffin.
