Enjoying visit to Calgary
Blaine Salkeld flew to Calgary tovisit with
relatives there. Hope you enjoy your holiday
in W bstern Canada, Blaine.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Fred. Guest
were Mr. and Mrs.. Wally Waechter and
family of Formosa.
Mrs. Arthur Phillips spent last week with
Mrs. ' Frank Maulden . and Keith. She
returned home to Fonthill on Sunday.
Marjorie Bennett of Toronto spent the
holiday weekend . here with her rather,
Arthur Haldenby.
Visitors with Edna and May Boyle were
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott and Elizabeth -Fair
of Ripley, Mr. and Mrs.- Midford Wall,
concession 10 and Mr. and Mrs. Kermit
Thompson and Ivan of Lucan. ,
Janine Christensen of Milton is holidaying
here with her grandparents, Pastor and Mrs.
M. Christensen.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Bertrand and family of
Simcoe visited - over _the weekend with
Winnifred, Bill and Brian Percy.
Relatives and friends from here attended
the funeral of Mrs. Wesley Thompson (the
former Maude Eckenswiller) on Sunday at
the MacKenzie ' and McCreath Funeral
Home, Kincardine. Wes and Maude were
residents of our community until they retired
to Kincardine in 1948. Symp_ thy is extended
to Helen" Morris and Clarence and Jean
Cerson and ,"family in the loss of a dear
mother -and grandmother. '
We were all pleased on Friday afternoon
to hear Mrs. Morley Bushell of Wingham
being interviewed on CKNX about the
Bi -Centennial quilt which she made. Doris'
quilt was awarded the first • prize in the
Bi -Centennial quilt, competition.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bier and their
daughter, Susan of Echo Bay visited with

Mr. and. Mrs. William Haldenby and Arthur
Haldenby. They also attended the Alton
reunion over the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Stanley of Michi-
gan and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hodgins and
family of St. Catharines spent the weekend
with Marretta Hodgins and attended the
Stanley reunion on Saturday.
Teacher retires

Ross Errington was honoured at a
luncheon at Brookside School upon • his
retirement as a teacher.
A number of former teachers from
Brookside staff. were back, as well as the
present staff to wish Ross goods luck on his
retirement.
He was presented with a Stereo Radio
Cassette Recorder, engraved' stein, money
and ' numberous small ,gifts. He was
previously presented with a dual system
Sheaffer pen from the .Students Council of
Brookside School.
Visit in Dundalk
Mr. and Mrs. Spence Irwin visited in
Dundalk with Mrs. Ed Baker and son, Victor
last week, returning home on Friday.

Ceremony held at Georgian College in Owen
Sound. Frank is a first year business

When the Kinsmen held their annual fire-
works display on Sunday, July 1 at. Point
(Clark, they had a great turn out for the
event. The Kinsmen put on a great display
which was enjoyed by all.
Congratulations to Kathryn Boyd, daugh-
ter df Glen ,and Anne Boyd of Huron
Township, on being chosen Ripley Fall Fair
Queen. The runner up- was Janice Elliott.
Visiting a week ago and attending the
Wilkins -Blake wedding. with, Charles,

their three children of Lions Head; Bob and
