Next home game is Thursday, ' July. 12 against "Port Elgin. ipley area �bituaries JEAN ELIZABETH PLACE ' Mrs. Ambrose Gamble received word' from Viking, Alberta, of the death of her cousin Mrs. Harold Place. 'She was formerly ; Jean Elizabeth Harrison., Her father was. Fred Harrison who was raised on the farm now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Alex Stewart on No..9 Highway. Jean passed away June 19, 1984 in her 66th year and until this time lived on their farm • at Viking. • Jean and her husband Harold along with • the late Ambrose Gamble and . Marion, travelled many miles together in Canada. In 1979 they travelled to Fairbanks, Alaska and in 1981 to the East Coast. Jean was an active member of the Viking United church and the Legion Branch No: 81. She will be missed by a family of two daughters, one son and five • grandchildren. CALVIN WILLIAM HENDERSON Calvin William Henderson of 841 Queen St. Kincardine passed away suddenly on Tues- d'ay last .week July 3, 1984. He was born on Thursday, October ' 1, 1925, in Huron Township. His parents were William Henderson and Irene Mills: The funeral ser- ° vice was held, on Friday. afternoon July 6, 1984 at the MacKenzie McCreath Funeral Home,Durham Street, 'Kincardine • with Rev. Presbyterian George Turner of Knox Presbyt g , Church, Kincardine officiating. Interment followed in Kincardine cemetery. He is survived . by his wife the former Evelyn Nesbitt; two 'daughters Pat, Mrs. Doug Porter of Lucknow and Joan, Mrs. Lynn Hodgins of London ,and three grand- children randchildren also two sisters Alma, Mrs. Donald Gillies of Ripley and Mrs. 'Eudora Owens of Hamilton and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son Ronald, one brother Garnet (Paul Henderson's father) and one sister Cora. Calvin and Evelyn Henderson and family lived in Ripley for several. years. Pat. and Joan . attended the Ripley District High -School. Sympathy of the folks here is ex- tended to all the family at this' time .of bereavement. . Mac was on a trip out west at the tune ane fi they had reached Cloquet west of Duluth, Minnesota when he was stricken by the fatal attack. They were also given a chance to see and touch "Poppy.” Poppy an eight-year- old gelding was ridden as part of the ride- Saturday but will be presented as a gift to Queen Elizabeth when she visits Canada later this year.
