The: Dungannon Women's Institute held
their'Canadian Agricultural meeting. Thurs-
day evening,.. July 5 at the 'home of Ila
Crozjer in Goderich. The ro call,. , name an
interesting farm experience, as answered
by 14, •!nembers. There were ee' visitors.
The collection of 'Pennies for riendship
was taken, a penny for :every chair in your
house. President, Ila Crozier displayed the
Institute dinner' . bell, now completed,
donated by Winnifred Girvin:
Alma Black read the minutes, the treas- •
•urer's report and the correspondence. The
ladies were reminded of the bus trip to
Stud
Milton. on July. 10. ,
Myrtle Kerr introduced the guest speaker
1983 Fair Queen of Dungannon, Lisa Brown..,
She spoke of her experiences representing
Dungannon fair during the last'year and the
rewards of such an experience, displaying.
'her crown and sash. She isa member of this
year's fair queen committee when a new
queen will be chosen in August. fla Crozier
thanked her with an envelope .gift.
Everyone enjoyed Myrtle ' Kerr's. reading
on Hogs using everything but the whistle.
Hostesses Ila . Crozier, Marian , Zinn and
Alma Black served lunch.

Mrs. Allan ' MacDougall was hostess. for
the:July meeting of South Kinloss W.M.S.
on July 3. • The president?. Mrs. John
Mowbray, welcomed all and read a poem,
• , 0 God of Love.
The ..Bible= Study . dealing with
sorrows and 'death was ably presented by
Mrs. Ray Buclimeier. with members reading
. Bible verses, on this subject. This was
followed with- the Prayer Circle with Mrs.
Allan MacDougall, Mrs. Fraser MacKinnon
and Mrs: Frank MacKenzie, and a reading
on the Bible ',Study theme by Mrs. Harold
Howald.. .

The offering was dedicated with the
hymn, We Give Thee But Thine Own.
Manta MacDougall played two delightful
piano selections:.
With Mrs. Jack Needham . as 'pianist.. and
Mrs. Don Bell ; leading, ..the group enjoyed
singing several hymns from the Country and
Western. Hymnal expressing the -thoughts
froln the Bible Study.
Mrs. Don Bell with map, :,charts. and
tiuesiiontheets continued: the. Mission Study
on Central Africa. She reviewed the many
problems discussed 'in previous, chapters
such as lack of food, clean. water, education,
low wages - average annual ; income 5120,
etc. Much land is also used to grow prdducts
for export and little left for food for families.
The next chapter • told•of the Journey of
Hope. ,There' are many plans for improve-
ment - districts are building new . schools,
vlocatignal training tor both boys :and. girls,
health and nutrition courses, self teaching
by, village members, more safe water ,and
refugees to be- given :land.
The nextmeeting will be a Family and
Talent Night, August 7 with Nancy Macln-
tyre hostess. ,'
Mrs. -Ray ' Buchmeier gave the courtesy
remarks and: also the 'closing prayer:

from the fourth concession to reside in
Lucknow. A beautiful picnic supper was By Lorraine McGuire
enjoyed and the neighbours .of the fourth
concession presented Mary and Walter with

Jack McGuire and Brian visited on'Sunday 1
evening with( Dorothy Engel, of Seaforth.
Joyce Black of St. Paul Alberta is
spending three weeks visiting with her
parents,. Mr. and -Mrs.. Walter Black of'
Lucknow.
Several people from this, area attended the
tractor pull Ani. Lucknow on Saturday .and'
Sunday: A good crowd was reported for both
days. ' ,
Mr, and Mrs. Delorb and Martha of
Mississauga visited on Friday afternoon with
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Black and Joyce of
Lucknow, Martha isspending a few days
with the Blacks.

Nancy McGuire of London spent Thursday
and Friday of last week visiting with her

Mrs. Walter Black .and Joyce.

Sophia Of Toronto spent theholiday weekend
at their home here: Mr. and Mrs: Jack
