Mission Study en Central Africa telling of
the manyfamily problems. She was 'assisted
by Mr -s. Lloyd ' MacDougall and Mrs.
Leonard Clarke with readings of family life:

What is a Grandmother?. A delicious lunch
was served by. Barrb`tyler, Caroline Snowden
and Doris Mewhinney.

The June -Meeting of the Lucknow Pres-
byterian ' afternoon W.M.S.:,was held on:
Wednesday , June 6 in the church.
Mrs. Cyril 'Brown opened the:: meeting .
with a poem _on, •Jtine. ' : i -
Mrs. Allison Ramsay gave the Bible Stgdy
followed by -all singing, Have Thy Own Way
Lord, which was related.' to her study.
Rhoda MacKenzie gave the .highlights of
the 100th Presbyterial Rally held in Kincar-
dine on May 28.
Mrs. Bert Moffat played a lovely piano
solo.
Mrs. Ken Laidlaw conducted the business
of the • meeting .and also gave the .Glad
Tidings review. .
Mrs. -Norman Taylor.. gave the : mission
studyon, Africa, which was very interesting
as Chun Henderson is stationed there. Clara
is home now on furlough. She is the
youngest daughter of Rev. and Mrs. William
Henderson of Lucknow.. .
Mrs: Jim Aitchison gave the offertory
prayer and Mrs. Jim Smith closed with
prayer.
A social hour was held after the meeting.

The Consumer Affairs meeting of the
Dungannon W.I. was held Thursday, June 7
at the home of Mrs. Gordon Finnigan.
Welcome was extended by the president,
Mrs. Clifford Crozier to 15 members and two
visitors. The treasurer's report was given by
Mrs. Elmer Black.
A letter from Zambia was read thanking
the members for knitted squares to make
baby blankets. Members approved a dona-
tionto the Lady Diana Nursery School at
Vanastra.
Plans were finalized for the Dungannon
Meet at me
W.I. 70th anniversary celebratioirr Jane 13 at
the Agricultural Hall.
Convener Mrs. Hugh McWhinney intro-
duced the guest speaker, Dgfis Culbert of
the Sewing Box in Lucknow, who spoke on
the joys and trials of starting a new business.
A very informative discussion followed as
members inquired about fabrics, patterns
and styles. Mrs. McWhinney thanked Mrs.
Culbert and presented her with a gift.
A delicious lunch was served by Mrs.
Gordon Finnigan, Mrs. Fred. Young and
Mrs. Alvin Kerr.
1'8' homes in June
Unit 1
Unit 1 of the Lucknow U.C.W. met at the
home of Mrs. Ross Shiells on Tuesday, June
5. The thernewas the beauty of god's world
and sixteen members answered the rollcall,
flowers of the Bible.
Mrs. Shiells introduced chapter 4 of the
study book entitled, Life for Wonien. Mrs.
Ross Shiells, Mrs. Eric Hackett and Mrs.
Stuart Reavie each read a scripture
concerning Jesus' regard for women.
Questions and discussion followed each
scripture revealing that Jesus is with us in
our struggle tobuild more just social
structures.
Mrs. Peter Cook entertainedwith a piano
selection.
President Mrs. Ross Shiells presided for
the business. She reported that a retreat will
be held June 11 at Silver Lake and a young
women's groups is being - organized. Com-
mittee reports were given for Supply and
Welfare, Social Functions and Friendship.
The meeting closed with the dismissal
hymn and the thought for the day. A Bible
quii was held while lunch was prepared.
Unit li2
Unit #2 of Lucknow U.C.W. met on
Tuesday, June 5 at the Elwood Irwin cottage ,
at Point Clark for a pot luck dinner with Mrs.
William Campbell as hostess.
Following a delicious meal, the program
with the theme, Nature, was presented.
Mrs. Glen Walden opened with a poem,
