Library hrtis books
for the handicapped
With a recent Wintario grant the Bruce
County Public Library was able to purchase
260 four -track books for the use of the
handicapped. These tapes must be used with
a 4 -track player, three of which have been
purchased with the help of local organiza-
tions and Wintario.
Book lists will soots be available at local
branch libraries.
Two track music and read aloud book
tapes are already available in the Lucknow
Branch library for children and adults. The
use of these tapes is open to everyone. 7
There is also a casette tape player which
can be borrowed for a one week loan period
at no charge.
Hosts open house
Betty Lou Dalton hosted an open house at
Kingsbridge on Saturday, June 2. Approxi-
mately 45 area ladies attended and enjoyed
discussions and presentations on nutrition,
colour analysis and rnakeup application. A
delicious smorgasbord dinner was enjoyed
and numerous draws made during the day.
Mites win opener
The Lucknow Mite Softball team defeated
Cargill 12 - 7 intheir first game of the season.
Dwayne Potter was 2 for 2 at the plate.
Justin Murray, Keith Todd and Donnie
Cuillerier hit home runs for Lucknow.
Pitching duties were shared by Justin
Murray and Keith Todd.

A bridal shower was held in the Pentecost-
al fellowship room on Tuesday evening for
Sharon Bolte. After a program of games and
fun, the younger girls brought the many
useful gifts to the bride. The gifts were then
passed around for everyone to see and
Sharon expressed her grateful thanks to
everyone. Refreshments and a social time
followed.
Marretta Hodgins and Darryl were dinner
guests on Wednesday with Edna and May
Boyle, it being the day after Marretta's
birthday.. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barr spent
Friday evening at the same home.
The Husk -Reid wedding was solemnized
on Saturday at the Presbyterian Church
here, We extend congratulations to the
newlyweds,

dinner and reception at Lucan United
Church on Saturday for their cousins, Mr.

and 10/4% per annum for the 5 months beginning
June 1, 1984.
With this increase, the annual value of a $1,000
Compound Interest Bond of these two series will
grow as tabled here. These values are based on
minimum rates guaranteed from November 1,1984
to maturity: 81/2% for Series 37 arid 7% for Series 38.
