The second meeting of the Ripley Horse
•aub took place May 22 at the home of Lisa
and Glenda Gable. Five of the six members
were present..
Guest speaker, 'Dr. Roger Thompson of
the Kincardine Vet Clinic gave an excellent
lesson in th fundamentals off First Aid. He
• covered the prevention, signs and correction
of several of the more common problems.

The, second meeting of the Trinity Gard-
ening Geniuses was held May 21, at the
home of.Hazel Hackett. The Home Activities
were taken up with the members showing
their garden plan.
The members discussed what is soil; the
different types of soil; soil elements;
thhihitig and transplanting.
The meeting adjouned with Mrs. Hackett
serving lunch: -

The St. Helens Sweet Peas held the first
meeting of,their spring project,. Gardening,
on, May 15. °
Elections were held with the following
results: president, Carol Rintoul; vice pres-
ident, Tanya' Turner; secretary,, Mae Ray-
• nard; treasurer, Tracy Tyler; press reporter,
Debbie Rintoul.
Leader, Lila Rintoul, explained the re-
quirements for the club.

Carol Rintoul, led the roll call, My family's
favourite vegetable, and a new vegetable, I
win1d like to try to grow. Some answers
were corn,' peas, potatoes, celery and plants
they wish to •grow included eggplants,
rutabaga.
The second meeting of the, St. Helens
Sweet Peas was held at the home of leader
• Lila Rintoul on Monday, May 21.
Members did three samples of the mixture
of earth, water and detergent and observed
what happened. They also discussed soil
testing, elements found in soil and thinning
and ,transplanting of plants.

of their son, David Jack, on May 22, 1984 in
Wingham and District Hospital, a wee
brother for Brent and Adam. Proud grand-

Grandma' Cameron.
FRAYNE - Paul and Anita Frayne, R. 3,
Goderich, are happy to announce the birth of
their first child, a son, Eugene Anthony, 9
lb. 1 oz., born May 22, 1984. A first
grandson for Betty and Eugene. Frayne of R.
R. # 3, Goderich, and another grandson for
Rita and John Howard of R R. # 7, Lucknow.
DE BOER - Ken and Jocelyn De Boer are
happy to announce the arrival of their new
son, James Benjamin on May 12, 1984.

weighing 10 lbs. 8 oz., on Saturday, May 26,
1984 at Ottawa Civic Hospital. Proud grand-

Nancy -Ruth in Toronto on May 9, 1984. A

Joseph's Hospital, London on May 15, 1984,
