The late Mr. Drennan farmed in A.shfield • Township and was "a member of Ashfield Presbyterian Church:, was also a Member of Old Light Lodge no.. 184 A.F. A.M., Lucknow for the past 63 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Ella MacDonald; one daughter Lorraine; three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by two sons, Don and John, both of Ashfield Township; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Pearl) EVans.of Lacombe, Alberta; • one grandson, David and one great- granddaughter, Dawn. A funeral service was held at McCallum Funeral Home in Goderich on Saturday, May 19 at 2 p.m. The Reverend Hugh Nugent o Ashfield Presbyterian Church officiated. Pallbearers were Stuart MacLennan, Kenneth MacLennan, 1'red Vassella, John MacKay, William Johnston and Allan Johnston. Old Light Lodge no.; 184 held a Masonic memorial service at the funeral home on Friday evening,. May 18. \ Interment was in Kiritail Cemetery. CkFtn u...p, yprd Pitch - In Day was held at Ripley Huron. Central School -following a week's delay due to poor weather. Each class was assigned a different area of the school grounds and the village of Ripley to clean up. The students found the areas they visited were quite clean. Family Picnic • On May 24 a family picnic was held at the school.. This activity was planned as part of the school's observance of Family Unity Month in May. Many families. braved the windy weather to take part. • Following the meal, helium balloons were released into the air. It is hoped some of these balloons will be found and the stuients •will hear about their destinations. Everyone was then invited to participate in games of soccer or slo-pitch. Other events included young children's ganpes and .para- chute activities. Projector course It is now mandatory that all persons h,orrowing 16MM Projectors, from Libraries in Bruce County must have a Projectionist Card: An opportunity is being given on June 4, 1984 for you to obtain this. The course will be, at 7.30 p.m. in the Lucknow Branch Library. The fee for this course is $3.00 per person. Please register in advance at the library.
