Board Vice Chairman Hans Kuyvenhoven
said• that while there has been talk about the
riew. Act, he has yet to see a draft • of the
legislation. "Until you see the actual draft,
it's hard to form an opinion on it."
Mr. Pike also asked whether the Ontario
Hospital Association, : which represents
'hospitals in the province, has taken a
position on the matter. It might' be better for
the OHA to make .a, recommendation rather
than for each hospital Wave to wrestle with
it, he suggested. .
However Dr. Hanlon said he would like to
see beard members taking an interest in the
matter as individual citizens. if the protests='
are just froth, doctors or hospitals they might
be dismissed. as representing vested inter-
ests, he • noted;
Evenlualiy the board agreed to hold a
seminar sometime in the near future to
discuss the new Health Act. Federal MP
Murray Cardiff will be invited to attend ato
carry
explain the Act and. the board's
feelings back to Ottawa.
