Mrs. MacGillivray read a 'poem, Some-

meditation, Gentleness, f0,110ving the scrip-
ture reading by Mrs. S. Tilbrook,
Mrs. Rice favoured with piano selections
of Irish music.
Mrs. Ivan Conley read a poeiri, God's
Plans. The'topic, Approach to the Economy,
was ably,taten,hy Mrs. Allan Gibson. She
told of "the hardshipsSuffered by native
peoples, who are at the mercy of large
corporations, who take advantage of cheap
labour. Mrs. Charles MacDonald closed with
prayer.
Unit 4
Unit 4 of Lucknow U.C.W. met with the
Evening- Auxiliary of the Presbyterian
Church in the fellowship room of the United
Church on March. 6. Mrs.. Robert Campbell
opened the meting with a prayer. Mrs.
Cayley reported for Amnesty International
and invited everyone to join this group.
• Shirley Hawthorne convened the program
and read a prayer and a spring poem, The
Harbingers Of Spring.
The actittire and meditation was given by
Mrs. Jim. Aitchison using her .theme on
Faith. Mrs. Austin Loree and Mrs. Ron
Forster• sang a pleasing duet.
Mrs. Ken Laidlaw introduced the guest
speaker, -Mrs. Allison Ramsay, who spoke on
Martha and Mary. The scripture passage, in
keeping with her text, was read by Maudie
Fis_her.
Mrs. William Henderson and Mrs. Bert
Moffat played a medley of hymns which was
much enjoyed. Mrs. Allan Miller and
Mrs. Gordon Brooke received the offering
which was blessed by Anne Anderson.
Mrs. Jack McDonald gave the courtesy
remarks and thanked everyone for their
participationt Jeisie Johnston closed with
prayer.
Several Irish contests kept everyone
guessing, followed by a Sing Song of Irish
songs. Everyone brought their favourite
recipes • and exchanged them &tin' g the
social hour that followed.
:Louise Millar of Palmerston, daughter. of
Rhetta. MacLennan, has recently been on a
conducted bus trip to Florida. It was on this
trip in Florida Louise saw Arabelle Bushell,
formerly of Lucknow. They had a wonderful,
visit and Arabelle would like to send best
wishes 'to all her friends in Lucknow, She
keeps well and drives- her own. car. The
Weather there -weer' beautiful with tempera-
tures in the 80s all the time they were there.
Russell MacDonald of -Exeter was home on
the , weekend with his father, David Mac-
Donald.
Elizabeth Wilkins of Toronto, daughter of
Charles and Mayme Wilkins, who is attend-
ing Ryerson Institute in Toronto, was home
for a week with her parents and brother,
Kenny. The first Sunday the Wilkin a enjoyed
their Sunday dinner in Kinloss Township
with Stella Irwin and son, Lloyd.. The
following weekend, Kenny and Elizabeth
went to Wallaceburge to visit their sister,
Janet Wilkins.

Finlay and Margie MacDonald had Kathie
Robson and son, Ryan of Grosse Point,
Michigan and Sadie Blue of Detroit with
them on the weekend; On their return trip
home, they took Margie back with them so
she could visit, her relatives in Detroit and
vicinity. .
Jim Webster of Waterloo, son of Welling-
ton and Kae Webster, was home with his
parents on the weekend.
A 'number of ladies of the Ashfield
Presbyterian- Church 'attended the World
Day of Prayer meeting at the church in
Kingsbridge. .
Charles and Mayme Wilkins were at a
birthday party on iW4Inesday evening to
help their grandson, Adam, celebrate his
first birthday.
The other day the Websters , received a
letter from their son-in-law, Atlee Wise of
Richfield, Ohio and he was saying they had
received 24 inches of snow and had winds
blowing at 46 to 60 miles per hour. They had

poor visibility, bad drifting and many
blocked roads. Atlee said it was a typical
southern Ontario snowstorm.
Congratulations to Dr. Russell and Lesley
Moncrief on the safe arrival of their darling
son, Scott Russell, who was born in the Elgin
Hospital in St. Thomas on March 2. The little
fellow weighed in at 8 lbs. 2 oz. A first,
grandson for proud grandparents, George
and Betty Moncrief and a grandson for Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Clift of Mississauga.
George and Betty Moncrief were in
Aylmer on Thursday to see Dr. Russell and
Lesley Moncrief and their new grandson,
Scott Russell.
