the Lucknow Atom B team. The first game
they.won 4 - 3'and Doug scored -a goal and
was awarded the most4valuable player medal
along with Alan.Kikkert who is the'goalie for
the. team. The, boys 'were defeated in their '

bitthday parti.; for Dorothy Beamish of

The ladies of the U.C.W. met for their
February, meeting at the home of Helen
Dawson on. February 14. A delicious dessert
luncheon was served by Karen Roberts and
Helen Dawson.
Gloria Pearson read a. poem, I Love You.
Karen Roberts led the Bible study from the
book, Jesus' Means Life. 'The question was
asked; Can we - know the real Jesus? and
discussion followed.; ' '
Roll call was answered with the name of a
song with the word, Love, in the title Each
person • reported . in the title. Each person
, reported on visiting of shut ins they had
done. Donna Alton gave a reading, Senior
Citizens, and conducted a short oral contest.

wrestling to the 5, 6, 7, 8 boys. He was at the
school on Tuesday.
On Wednesday Ripley girls and Brookside
girls played hockey and the score was 3 2
for Ripley.
Grade 3 . are doing research projects en
elephants. They also , have .two reading
groups who are studying Greek myths.
Grade 2 is learning about racoons. Mrs.
Blanchette told her students that if anyone
had a racoon as a pet, they could bring it in
or tell about it. They ate making Big Books,
also. •
Mrs. Young 'had Mrs. Wilson in to talk
about 3D shapes one day this week. Mrs.
Young's class is also making lions and lambs
out of paper plates. They are discussing
whether March will come in Pike a .lion' or a
• lamb. They are also learning time.
Mrs. Jolly's class is growing grass seeds
in little jars for 'leprechaun hair.
The teachers had a staff meeting on.
Friday during P.D. day and small group ,
meetings todiscuss curriculum plans, etc.
The new staff officer for Huron County, Mr.
Marion, met with 'the teachers briefly at
noon. There were parent interviews during
the afternoon.

Mrs. Wallace Milligan attended. Others
celebrating birthdays besides Tim were Jean
Tiffin and Norma Falconer..
Mr. and Mrs.Dan Tiffin, Wingham visited
Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Don
Ross.
Bob Ross of Kitchener spent the weekend

The officers elected were president, Kim

Elliott. The other members are Cathy Dow,
Marilyn Jamieson and Kendra Purdon.
Mrs. Purdon discussed ` the,14 Ss, . Heart
Rate, Target Zone, the Morning Munch and
Home. Activities. ' She also had everyone find
and take their pulse.
Mrs. Elliott demonstrated the recipes,
Bacon and Egg Loaf, Corn Bread with Saus-
ages and Breakfast Dogs.
