were installed . to their positions at the
morning worship service. Installed as'Eliers

Stewards were Tom Andrew and Brian
Boyd. The Sacrament of HOly Communion
was then celebrated:

. The highlight of the meeting- was Myrtle
Ferguson being called to the front to receive
her life. Membership award and pin. Mrs.
Ferguson was the first .president of the Pine
River U.C.W. The pin was. presented by the
past president, Thelma Godfrey and prayer
was offered by Thelma.
Linda Campbell convened the program
part of the meeting. A narrative was given
by Gloria Rutledge, Alberta Munro and Mad
Reid on the Samaritan Woman and Jesus, at
the Well. This was very much enjoyed by all.

The February' meeting of Donnybrook
U.C.W. was field on Tuesday, February 14
at the home of Margaret Hildebrand with
Donna Rieman and Luba Sfrutton in charge.
Donna Bieman opened the 'meeting with
Prayer. Following the. responsive reading
and prayer, Eilleen Hanna read _ the
scripture.' Donna Bieman read the medita-
tion, followed by ,a poem by. Luba Strutton,
and prayer .by, Donna Bieman. Readings by
Wanda Jefferson, St. Valentines, and How
to Preserve a Husband by Donna Bieflnan
were given.

business which included, a . report on the
Presbyterial meeting in Stratford, discussion
On the World Day, of Prayer March 2,
catering to St. Helens Institute banquet, a
quilting at Margaret Hildebrand's home and

book of Donnybrook Church:
The meeting was closed with the singing
of a hymn. Lunch was served by the

Mr. and Mrs. Farish Moffat of Wingham
spent last week in Toronto at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Moffat as they were
attending , the SMPTE's 18th annual TV
conference and Equipment Exhibit and the
pre -conference Tutorial meeting February 9,
10 and 11 at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in
Montreal.
The SMPTE TV conference has become an
international event of great importance and
included contributions from all over the
world. Some countries represented, in
addition to Canada and the U.S.A., were
France, Germany, England and Japan.
Gordon Moffat is supervisor of the
Electronic News Gathering Unit, National
TV News, CBC Toronto, and has been with
the CBC for over 20 years, starting with the
crew of the CBC's Country Hoedown in
1963.

their monthly Meeting on February •8 at
Brookside School

meeting and Joanne Pentland gave the
treasurer's report.
A card party will be held on March 19.
Members are catering to a meal for the Lions
Club in Lucknow on February -13. The annual
formal will be., held April 14 at Lucknow
Community Centre: The theme is, Beyond.
the Rainbow, and .tickets will cost S6 per

Plans are underway for a Barbecue and
Dance to be . held May 26, at. Brindley's
in Dungannon. The annual banquet and
dance will be held November 24 at the
Lucknow Community Centre. A toboggan
party will. be held March 4. All othei county
clubs will be invited to this event.'

Scott. .

Grace Gibson. president, read a valentine
verse. Twenty-two ladies answered the roll,
call, How to be Good to the Aged.
Mrs. Gammie chaired the meeting for the
program. She read a valentine poem. Mrs.
Webster gave the motto, A Recipe for a
Happy Home.
The guest speaker was Mrs. Glen Walden,
who spoke on Consumerism. She proved
very interesting and left members with much
food for thought. She advised everyone to
shop wisely and be a'vare of their rights.
Mrs. Webster sang a solo and Mrs.
Stonehouse tread a poem. Each were in
keeping with Valentine's Day. A contest was
conducted by Mrs. Gammie. Grace
Campbell was the winner.

Albert, Sew and Sews, had their first
meeting.
The 4-H club project is quilting. The
leaders are Mrs. Hayden and Mrs. Young.
The resident is Marcia Boak; vice preside
ent, Laurie Hayden; secretary; Monica
Young; treasurer. Stephanie Durnin and
press reporter. Wendy Westecott.
The members are thinking of attending
the Ice Capades. It would cost $ 14.00 for the
ride, for the seats, and for a stop at
McDonalds to eat.
