Unit 1 of the Luckiiow'U..C,W. met in the
church fellowship room on Tuesday, Feb -

Evelyn Cook led the worship With .a poem,
A Friend Who Just Stands. By. Annie Kilpat-
rick read the scripture, The Love Chapter.
Elaine Irwin stressed the Biblical meaning of
love and each member ' did a personal
evaluation on how loving a,person" we are..
Evelyn Cook spoke on . Live for the Poor,
taken from the study book, Jesus Means
Life. She explained how Jesus associated
with the poor and the sinners to give them
life and hope.. An interesting question period
followed and the meeting.closed with prayer.
Mrs. Ross Shiells . chaired the business
session.. Members are to save tin cans, and
bottles for recycling. The remaining offices
"on the executive were filled.
Mrs. Shiells,.: closed the meeting with a

Mrs. William Campbell gave a, poem,
Caring. Mrs. Howard.. Barger and ' Mrs.
William Bolt read the scriptures.
Mrs. William Campbell and Mrs. Harvey
Houston sang' God will Take Care of. You
accompanied by Mrs. W.: V. Johnston. The
offering was taken up and dedicated by
Donna Clark.
Mrs: Campbell : read, an . article, Love is
more than words, which told, how love and
caring had changed the lives of the .poor,.
blind and handicapped children who had
tome to the Bangor Mission in India.
Donna Clark took chapter. two of the study
book, Jesus Meana Life, and she gave.a most
interesting resume of this 'chapter. Ml took
part in a discussion which followed. Donna
closed this part 'of the .meeting with prayer.
Mrs. Walden presided for the business.
The minutes were read by the secretary,
Mrs. Eldon Bradley, and . approved. Mrs.
Walden displayed the beautiful quilt block
which had been designed by Mrs. Vernon
Hunter and ' embroidered, by Mrs. Harvey
Webster. This will be one block in the quilt.

of the studybook, Jesus is Life. She spoke of
Jeius's work among the poor and sick and.
outcasts of his time. Mrs. Henderson read
passages from Luke and Matthew pertaining
to Jesus' healing, and '' teaching. Mrs:
Wightman ' asked" questions on interprets -
tions of this, work . and she pointed out it is
o_ur.Faith that Heals. She closedwith prayer.
Mrs.:. Ivan Conley read a poem When
Grandpa Looks at Grandma. Mrs.. Arnold
,closed " with 'a verse, Each Day is a New
Beginning..
Mrs, Gibson ,. conducted the business
period. The roll call was answered by. a
`scripture verse on, Love., by 16: members and
one guest Mrs: William Mutter reported on
visits made and cards sent.

Unit 4 of -the .Lucknow 'United, Church
Women met for their monthly meeting on
Tuesday, February 7. Twenty -tyro, members
answered the roll call . with ' a valentine
thought '
Mrs Cam Thompson chaired the meeting,
opening, with.. a poem, My Valentine Wish.
Mrs. Bryce Elliott read the scripture . and
followed' with the meditation and 'prayer.
Pleasing piano numbers in keeping with
the valentine theme, were .given. by Mrs.
William Graham.
Mrs: William , Ferguson gave the topic
from the 'study ,;book, Jesus Means Life,
dealing with the second chapter, Life for the
° Poor. '
• Mrs. Thompson closed theprogram with a
prayer. Mrs. Gordon Cay, ley was pianist for
the hymns..
Mrs.. Robert Campbell, leader.. of Unit 4,
presided ' forthe business and reports were
given.

series on Timothy Pilgrim which is a part of
their literature. program.
Marilee Derby from Douglas Point came
to speak On Wednesday and spoke' to grade
5, 6, and 8. She showed a film on different
energy., sources. Each student received ' a
-crossword puzzle and , a . conservation of
electricity game..'
Michael Curran received a thank yott card
for his story in an Owl magazine contest.
Children who will particiapte in the'Legion
public speaking contest will be chosen this
week at assembly:
Last weekend Mrs. Blake attended a
workshop in Toronto ' for librarians. It' was
called The Idea. Shop. She met some authors
there, among them being 'Mary Howarth and
